Samba: 32 or 64 bit
All
Due to an application issue I need to let app support know whether the
version of Samba we are running is 32 or 64 bit. We are running Samba
2.2.8 on Solaris 8 (64 bit mode). Aplogies if this is really obvious but I
have looked many places with no luck.
It was installed from a file containing Solaris packages -

preload_app = true causing - ActiveModel::MissingAttributeError: missing attribute: some_attr
Greetings,
I''m getting this - ActiveModel::MissingAttributeError: missing
attribute: some_attr - on a random basis under a unicorn server,
running rails 3.2 and ruby 1.9.3
As the case of the last poster in the following thread -
https://github.com/rails/rails/issues/1906 - I too am able to resolve
this issue by settingpreload_app to false.
However, this is not the behaviour I want to

Asterisk as a voicemail for a central office switch
I've spent the past several weeks reading up and playing around with Asterisk while I've been waiting for an ISDN card I got on ebay to arrive so I can really get to business. I'd just like to run my project ideaa by some of you to hopefully get a little feedback. I aplogize if this ends up being a somewhat long message.
In the Marine Corps we've somewhat recently started using Redcom IGX switches in place of the proprietary (and ridiculously expensive) switches that we've used in the past (well, and still do use). This opens the door to all kinds of off-the-s...

R 2.4 needed for packages in testing _now_?
Hi,
I'm running testing, freshly updated, and I've now got a version of MASS
installed that depends on R >=2.4. How long until 2.4 gets into testing,
and is there anything I can do in the meantime to correct this?
Cheers,

Really OT: terms of service and privacy statements
Hey everyone,
Aplogies asking such an off topic question on this list, as I have no one
else to really turn to.
I plan to release a website very soon to the public. I am just one-man shop,
and do not know much outside the realm of programming. I''ve taken care of
the "business" aspect of things, but know nothing of the legal necessities
of having a web business. Specifically,

Color coding plotted numbers
Hi all,
I have run a pca and want to plot the samples multivariate space using the
sample numbers. In addition, I would like to color code the sample numbers
by group, but can't find a way to color-code the sample numbers by group.
So, I have to do it in two separate steps:
plot(bulbil.pca, col=as.numeric(group.bulbil[,3]),
pch=as.numeric(group.bulbil[,3])) # group.bulbil[,3] is grouping

Virus Infection
Hi All,
First hand, aplogies for any problems with the email you have received from this id. Thanks Ivo Ganavles, without your email i wouldn't even have noticed that this has happened. Ralph Giles guess was correct. My Win2k pc got infected by a virus name w32.blackmal.e@mm worn/virus. More details on the same is available from symantec website. It even deleted the Norton Antivirus files

Root server dns queries
(Either this was too hard for the folks on -questions, or it was out
of place there, or I'm not providing the right kind of info or...
I'm open to suggestions.)
At this stage I'd approach bliss if someone could even tell me how
to make bind forget that IPv6 exists, and therefore stop hammering
these queries at an apparently unsympathetic NT DNS server.

vertical list sum
Hi Everyone,
I have a list of vectors like this (in this case it's 3 vectors but assume the vector count and the length of each vector is not known):
[[1]]
[1] 9 5 7 2 14 4 4 3
[[2]]
[1] 3 6 25 2 14 3 3 4
[[3]]
[1] 28 4 14 3 14 2 4 5
What I want to do is take the average vertically. Thus I want to do 9+3+28 /3, 5+6+4 /3, etc... and then have it return a vector. I'm

farimaSim
Hello!
I installed the fSeries package to get some farima time-series which i tried
with farimaSim, but unfortunately i got always an error. I tried it this way:
> farimaSim(n = 1000, model = list(ar = 0.5, d = 0.3, ma = 0.1), method="freq")
Error in farimaSim(n = 1000, model = list(ar = 0.5, d = 0.3, ma = 0.1), :

Using the Mahalanobis Function
Hello all,
I am a 2 month newbie to R and am stumped. I have a data set that I've run multivariate stats on using the manova function (I included the data set). Now it comes time for a table of effect sizes with significance. The univariate tests are easy. Where I run into trouble filling in the table of effect sizes is the Mahalanobis D as an effect size. I've included the table so

Version: 1.5.1
OS: Windows 95
Submission from: (NULL) (170.54.59.160)
In the R windows FAQ, item 3.6 (Package TclTk does not work) currently has this

Sys.putenv("TCL_LIBRARY"="c:/Program Files/Tcl/lib/tcl8.3")
I find that if I execute the following two lines after starting R, I can then do
library(tcltk) and demo(tkdensity) as usual. I do
