Can one aply 'mgp' to individual axis?
Dear R-wizards! I want to move the axis label of the y-axis a little bit more apart from the border of the plot (otherwise, it would overlap with my horizontal numbering). 'par(mgp(3.5, 1, 0))' does it properly. Unfortunately, it also moves the x-axis label which does not look good. Is there a way to specify 'mgp' for each axis separately or is there another way to move just

p adjustment on 4thcorner results
Hi all, This is probably a very simple question but I cannot figure out how to do it. I run the fourthcorner method with my data and would like to adjust the p values for multiple comparisons using Holm correction. When I run the fourthcorner I obtain the results in yellow. What do I need to do to be able to aply the Holm correction to those p values? > library(ade4) > four1 <-

[Fwd: Re: strange ucom (uplcom) error]
...ust recently been looking into this too. I used the mentioned patch and also linux driver source and have come with the attached patch. It contains one more change but I don't know if it's correct. It works for both chips on CURRENT for serial console. It detects if the chip is rev 3.00 and aplies the patch only for it. The author of the patch mentions it isn't binary safe - sometimes the chip stops working. I planned to test it with binary transfers (ppp) today, check if it's working and submit it (with some cleanup) for inclusion in FreeBSD. Michal Mertl

testing for significance in random-effect factors using lmer
Hi, I would like to know whether it is possible to obtain a value of significance for random effects when aplying the lme or related functions. The default output in R is just a variance and standard deviation measurement. I feel it would be possible to obtain the significance of these random effects by comparing models with and without these effects. However, I'm not used to perform

That's because open file handles work in inode number, not filename. So you can rename things out-of-the-way for existing file handles, while creating a new file that will be opened for any new ones. problem with the ltm package - 3PL model
Hi Xavier, the reason you observe this feature is that in the 'constraint' argument you should specify the values under the additive parameterization, i.e., when in the second column of the matrix supplied in 'constraint' you specify 2, then you need to provide the easiness parameters (not the difficulty parameters) in the third column. Check the Details section of ?tpm() and

Sporadic Issues
My last sentence still aplies to the bitrate. We usually use 80kbps, but sometimes we have used 64kbps (e.g. when sourcing from a cellular network). With music you can get the difference, but with voice there's no need to use more bitrate unless you want more quality in the audio itself. -- Xabier Oneca_,,_ El 27/02/2013...
