Two diferent LAN''s...
Hi,
I''ve got a question about how to configure the shorewall, and maybe
someone could answer.
I have a PC with 3 ethernet. The eth0 connets to internet. The eth1
connects to LAN A, and the eth2 connects to LAN B. I''ve configured
the shorewall for doing NAT, and both LANs can navigate, but it seems
that from a LAN A host you can connect to a PC of LAN B, and the
other way

matrix conformity with matrix 1x1 and scalars
...ot so "clever" as to realize that b'Pb can be interpreted as a
scalar. I wonder :
would it be worth considering the implementation in R of
"recycling 1x1 matrix to scalars if appropriate"?
Just to leave the question on the ground...

Andres

only give me F for fixed effects of A and B, while what I am really looking
for is F for fixed effects of INSOLACION and the R2 of the new model.
Thank you so much in advance for your help

Heteroskedasticity in Tobit models
Hello,
I've had no luck finding an R package that has the ability to estimate a
Tobit model allowing for heteroskedasticity (multiplicative, for example).
Am I missing something in survReg? Is there another package that I'm
unaware of? Is there an add-on package that will test for
heteroskedasticity?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,

The plot of qqmath
Hello,
I would like to inlude the Q-Q plot by "qqmath" into a panel with other
plots, say, using par(mfrow=c(1,2)). How can this be done given that
"qqmath" refreshes the plotting window and there seems to be no series
coming out of it?
Thanks

No years() function?
Hi,
I'm trying to aggregate date values using the aggregate function. For example:
aggregate(data,by=list(weekdays(LM),months(LM)),FUN=length)
I would also like to aggregate by year but there seems to be no
years() function.
Should there be one? Is there any alternative choice?
Also, a hours() function would be great. Any tip on this?
Thanks in advance!

variance components
Please forgive the cross posting. I sent this to Medstats and have not received any response.
I am looking for a good written explanation of components of variance (a.k.a variance components), in particular as they are used in genetic analyses. Does anyone have a suggestion? I am interested in books, articles and on-line material. I intent to give the material to some of my students none of whom

How to create a chromosome location map by locus ID
Hi,
I'm trying to make a chromosomal map in R by using the locus. I have a list
of genes and their locus, and I want to visualise that so you can see if
there are multiple genes on a specific place on a chromosome. A example of
what I more or less want is below:

The genes and locus are here:

So I guess this is the right way to interpret the variances in the

I need some help, advice or whatever you can explain to me because I haven''t

grateful if I got some help from an expert like you.
I''m trying to build a system which represents the following:

Is there a quick way to count the number of times each element in a vector appears?
Hi there,
I'm writing a function that calculates the probability of different
outcomes of dice rolls (e.g., the sum of the highest three rolls of
five six-sided dice). I'm using the "combinations" function from the
"gtools" package, which is great: it gives me a matrix with all of the
possible combinations (with repetitions allowed). Now I want to count
the number

Two different suppliers provide both public ip''s, so as I have an fw which
is made of:

eth1 -> supplier B
eth2 -> internal LAN
Using the 4.2 section of LARTC documents, a divided rooter between two
providers can be made. Even it can be configured to have a
