TAP:AOI - ext2 or ext3?
I''ve always created my TAP:AIO based instances with ext3. I''ve noticed on boot it complains a little but keeps chugging along just fine. Since the underlying FS is ext3, does it matter? When running DomU''s which should I use?
Please note I know I should use physical disks, but this is for a specific case.

smbclient, tar, and exclude
As of release samba-1.9.16p11, the X option (exclude file) for tar
creates doesn't work recursively; if the exclude file is a directory,
files that are in the directory or subdirectories are not excluded from
the tar create.
I would like the exclude feature to work recursively, and attached is a
patch to do it. The exclude feature works the same way for both create
and extracts.

How to backup from Win to Linux using smb
> I have big problem: I need to automaticaly copy files from Win'pc to Linux

I submitted this one to the mailing list awhile back, but I've made some
improvements, so here it is again.
We have cron run a script every night that backs up all the systems (Win and
Unix) to a single tape. Naturally, the tape capacity needs to be large enough
for all the systems involved.

smbfs directory cache broken in 2.2 kernels?
Using RHL 6.0 (2.2.5 kernel) with Win95 systems, smbfs doesn't recognize
(immediately) changes made on the remote the remote system by a user on the
remote computer. After a share has been mounted, if some computer other than
the computer using smbfs to mount the share adds/removes a file to a directory
in
the share, an 'ls' of the mounted directory doesn't show the new/removed

bug fix for smbclient/tar
There's a race condition: when a file increases in size when being archived by
the tar function in smbclient, the resulting tar file is created with an
invalid format. The tar header for the file has the wrong length, and many tar
programs will abort when they get to the invalid header/file.
I've seen this happen when using smbclient/tar to back up a Win98 computer, and
there's

Is there an Ogg Vorbis comment editor out there, to edit the comment
