Help re speech software for the visually impaired
Hi, Not too sure what you're looking for, but Speex isn't a screen reader, it's a compression algorithm. Also, there's no with thing as Speex version V208. Morrowind sees wine as a debugger and refuses to start.
Hello list, I successfully installed Morrowind. Unfortunately, the game won't start. It issues a small popup saying a debugger has been detected, and that the debugger needs to be closed for the game to run. Is there any way I can avoid programs to see Wine as a debugger? Thanks! _________________________________________________________________ MSN Messenger : discutez en direct avec vos

Reading a specific column of a csv file in a loop
Dear all: I have two larges files with 2000 columns. For each file I am performing a loop to extract the "i"th element of each file and create a data frame with both "i"th elements in order to perform further analysis. I am not extracting all the "i"th elements but only certain which I am indicating on a vector called "d". See an example of my code below

Hi all, I had been running a Samba pdc using the standard tdbsam backend on CentOS 4.5 supporting 20+ WinXPsp2 workstations and a Win2k3 Terminal Server. This set up was running fine for arroung 18 months maybe more. The above system was built on ageing hardware that used to be a Win 2k server that died from OS corruption. Due to the expanding client needs there was good reason to replace

A strange question on probability
Dear All, I wonder if there is a probability distribution where you can specify when a certain event start and finish within a fixed period? For example I might specify the number of period to be 5, and a random vector from this distribution might give me: 0 1 1 1 0 where 1 is always adjacent to each other? This can never happen: 0 0 1 0 1 for example. My apology for this strange question!

Using summary or quantile (which summary calls) on a difftime object takes an extremely long time if the object is even moderately large. A reproducible example:
