No, just fooled by the list defaults (some need just reply, others need reply
to all)

I experience the "same" low level noise even in a wav file,

You are right insofar as the cron daemon process is owned by root. However, when the cron daemon runs a job, it starts the the job's process with the privileges (and the environment, e.g. $HOME) of the user for whom the job was added. I added the job to a crontab file

Antw: Re: fallback to static mp3 file?
Hi Geoff,
Thanks, that sounds like a good idea. I've just tried it and of course it works. Then I discovered that when the original source is not connected icecast doesn't fall through to the fallback mount. Is this a known problem?

Antw: Log analysis
Hi Geoff,
The streaming version of Webalizer can certainly do this (hmm, I can't seem to find the link anymore, it used to be on a separate website, not awstats.sf.net) and I use it for my clients.
See my post from September 2004 regarding correct logging of SOURCE time.

You have to use NAT or port forwarding to your icecast server.

Antw: CentOS and HP Drivers
We are using the Hp-Agents continuously on our Servers.
The latest Version with centos-3.3 was no Problem.
Mainly it depends on the used kernel Versions,
because the raid driver modules are not for vanilla kernels, only for official Kernels from Redhat, Suse ...
The only thing you have to do, is to fake the /etc/redhat-release,
because the installer looks for supported Linux Versions.

Antw: odfWeave Error
Hi,
I am using 7-zip for unzipping (http://www.7-zip.org/). Then
odfWeaveControl needs to be set to
odfWeaveControl(zipCmd=c("c:/programme/7-zip/7z a -tzip
$$file$$","c:/programme/7-zip/7z x $$file$$ -aoa")) -> control
where 'c:/programme/7-zip/' is the path to my 7-zip installation.
You can then use control to set the control-parameter in odfWeave.

Antw: problem with installing openssh on HP/UX
Hi,

I don't know what "niit1" stand for. We use openssh on several HP 9000/800 series (HP-UX 10.20, 11.00) compiled with gcc-2.95.2 and did not run into problems with the latest portable openssh version and the pam-patch provides earlier in this list.

Antw: Ctrl-C problem on HP-UX
Hi Ryan,
I run into the same problem with my HP-UX 11 as well as HP-UX 10.20 boxes. Therefore I decided not to start the sshd from the swagent in the postinstall script. I start the daemon via the lan console by hand. I know in large environments it is not a perfect solution but the only one which works these days ;-((

Antw: openssh compile errors on hpux 11.00
Hi Kyle,
I've compiled 2.9p2 on HP-UX 11.00 with gcc-3.0.0 als well as 2.95.2 and openssl-0.9.6 and got _no_ problems. I took the openssh-package from the porting center. Some month ago I got some errors with the commercial c-compiler from HP but going back to gcc solve them.
Hope that helps

Antw: SSh 3.1p1
Hi Markus,
it has bin tested by me against HP/UX 11.0 in the mode "trusted system" and worked well. Since PAM-authentification is default in 11.00 you must not activate it via the configure switch "--with-pam". If you like I can send you a depot-file and the prndg-package by Lutz Jaenicke as a depot as well because I compiled the ssh with use of it for generating entropie.
