How do I juxtapose two lattice graphs with common X axes such that the X axes line up?
Hello, I would like to juxtapose two lattice graphs with common X axes such that the X axes line up. I am using plot right now but the edges are not neat and it would be nice if I could just draw 1 X axis and not both of them. Here is my code: upper<-bwplot(SignalUsed~as.factor(AllNormalHitsNamesCount),data=NmlOverviewArray2, xlab="", ylab="Intensity of Individual

How to calculate the AUC in R
Hello R-listers, I'm working in an experiment that try to determine the degree of infection of different clones of a fungus and, one of the measures we use to determine these degree is the counting of antibodies in the plasma at different dilutions, in this experiment the maximum number of dilutions was eleven. I already checked for differences on the maximum concentration of the antibodies in function of each clone of the fungus. However one measure of interest is the area under the curve (AUC) for...

Qs re writing/reading arrays, dataframes
Hi! I'm just getting started with R (and with the analysis of large datasets in general). I have several beginner-level questions whose answers I have not been able to find, and was hoping one of you would be kind enough to throw me a cluebrick or two. I have a 6-dimensional numeric array (which I'll call myarray) that is "fully named". By this I mean that non-NULL dimnames

How best to get around shadowing of executables by system()'s prepending of directories to Windows' PATH?
My question: On Windows, R's system() command prepends several directories to those in the Windows Path variable. >From ?system The search path for 'command' may be system-dependent: it will include the R 'bin' directory, the working directory and the Windows system directories before 'PATH'. This shadows any executables on the Path that share a

the number of components of the mixture model and the stratfied data
Hi,all with my data, there are more than 1000 quantitative results of antibody concentrations, there may be 2 components(positive and negative), or 3 components (may be strong positive, positive, and negative), or 4-6 components. Could you tell me how to determine the number of components of the mixture model? the "anova.mix" in mixdist of the R software seems not work. my
