Turbo is a CPU option, not a test suite execution option. Turning it off
stops the system from varying the CPU clock based on load (when this
feature is enabled it can be a power saving, but it results in varying
performance - bad for perf analysis).
Anotehr thing to consider disabling is Address Space Layout Randomization
so that you get consistent hashing & other behavior run-over-run.

I wanted to, but after a few failed attempts, I couldn't pass the option to
clang to disable vectorization. I don't want to make Galina reconfig the
master every time, so I set up a

changing routes.rb
Hi,
I''m a complete beginner and I just have a simple question:
How do I change lines in a file like routes.rb? I know the command type
(i.e type config\routes.rb) but that just shows it and doesn''t allow me
to change anything.
Thanks in advance

Help with Help
I have recently been reading several books on data mining which contain a
few data sets. The books offer some perspective on model choices, tuning
decisions, result interpretation. Are there any good resources that can walk me
through the thought process of an experienced data miner with the datasets that
are included for packages such as "rpart" & "kmeans".

Saving WinBugs log file when using bugs()
Hi,
I am very new to R and Winbugs. I have been provided with a code that runs
Winbugs from R. The code runs 60 different models and I would like to
either save the Winbugs log file for each of these or reproduce the WinBugs
plots which show convergence over the iterations.I can do this by using
Debug=true and saving manually each time but obviously this is very time
consuming.
Many thanks

Proposal to add preprocessor warning for unused command line macros
This is a proposal for either adding a new, or updating an existing
command line option such that a diagnostic can optionally be produced
for unused -D macros.
Long-lived large projects with thousands of files and many
contributors have a tendency to accumulate build options over time. As
time passes some build options like macros become replaced, obsolete,
or simply no longer used.

Registering Softphones to Asterisk
Hi,
We have set up our Asterisk server, our extension.conf and sip.conf
according to
http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2003/07/03/asterisk.html?page=4
It's quite basic, and extension.conf is set up properly. The difficulty we
are now encountering is in sip.conf, in trying to get any softphone to
register at our own Asterisk server.
We have searched the mailing list, and find bits and

CRAN package with dependencies on Bioconductor
Dear all,
for a CRAN-package that depends on another Bioconductor-package I find two
things annoying and would like to know whether there are some workarounds:
1) Is there some inevitable problem that install.packages does not install
uninstalled packages (on which the specified package depends) also from
Bioconductor (in the correct version)?
2) In my understanding (please correct me if

Camping 2.0 - What''s left?
I''ve just sent a pull-request to _why with my changes[1] and here is some
things that I think needs to be done before a (possible) release:
* The cookie session is named Camping::Session and is placed in
camping/session.rb. Maybe this should be called Camping::CookieSession or???
* The ActiveRecord session is named Camping::ARSession and is placed in
camping/ar/session.rb. Maybe it

Win2K Printer Driver Problems - Hi Jerry!!
Nope, close but no cigar.
With 2.2.6Pre2 Word started to behave itself but Outlook acts as though
landscape is a foreign concept(i.e everything prints portrait regardless of
page setup). Spoolsv also crashes on the Win2K workstations requiring a
manual restart of the spooler service. We will downgrade to 2.2.5 and try
Jerry's patch.
In another message Jerry talks about "running"
