icecast and ices as a testbed right now. Eventually, it will be on a much
larger box, with gobs of space, and each user will be able to FTP their own
MP3's to the server and build dynamic playlists, from their own and the
other MP3's. I'm leaning towards using something like Andromeda to allow the
listeners to choose their own music, or something to allow them to build
their own streams, but also want a "default" stream if you will, which is a
random selection from all available MP3's. I've got a friend of mine, who is

Adobe Acrobat 5.0/wine???
Hi!
Is it possible to run Acrobar Reader 5.0 with wine under Linux? If so, what
do I have to do? I installed Acrobat 5.0 under Windows 98 (and it works),
but it won't work using wine under Linux (which I would prefer because I
usually do not run Windows).
Any help?
Cheers,
Bogislav

[Bug 130] New: segfault on connect / Red Hat 6.1 w/OpenSSL 0.9.6c
...I just built openssl 0.9.6c, which appears to be the most recent version, and it
passed the 'make test' routines, so that appears not to be the problem. It's an
old Red Hat 6.1 box that's on-site and thus can't be replaced or safely
upgraded.

More than one logon script, can I have?
Hi,
RH7.3, Samba 2.2.8a, Win2KSP4 clients...
I was just wondering,
I know I can have a logon script based on a machine name, on a group, a
username, etc., but am I able to actually have a combination of the
above?
I would like to have a standard group logon script (which I currently do
have), but I would also like an extra script to run if they log on to
particular machines under my domain...

masquerading
Following Situation:
Having an intranet-application that needs to know the ip-Address of the
clients before running.
Clients anywere in the Internet with any ip-address.
So I thought about using masquerading the opposite way than normal.
But then anybody could use this application.
Dos anybody know how to make it a little bit more secure, like proofing
the mac-address of the client, or something

users and get all user account information (home dir etc) from an ldap
server (openldap 1.2.7 on freebsd3.4) with win95/98 clients using
nss_ldap/pam_ldap and plaintext passwords.
I would like to use the same setup with client-side encryption ie.
between client (win98) and samba server, but have been unable to.

X4500 device disconnect problem persists
After applying 125205-07 on two X4500 machines running Sol10U4 and
removing "set sata:sata_func_enable = 0x5" from /etc/system to

This in spite of the patch description which claims multiple fixes
in this area:

Win2K and Samba 2.2.5
Dear all,
I have a SuSE 8.1 Installation running on a box and
mixed windows versions on clients doing domain loggons
etc on the SuSE8.1 box (I have activated Samba on it
and all works just fine!).
One of them has Win2K and it is running a software that plays
MP3s from the SuSE server on a 24hour basis (that is non-stop).
For the past few months, the Win2K client will show an

Enumerations (again): Comments please
Some of my earlier questions may have hinted ever so slightly in the
direction that I''m trying to implement "enumerations". By an
enumeration here I mean a class that has a fixed number of immutable
instances, which in turn have essentially only a name and a position.
Requirements I''ve tried to meet are
- Enumeration instances should only be loaded once from the
