maptools: Test if point is in polygon
In R's maptools package, is there a built-in function to test if a
given point is "inside" a given polygon on the map? The map was
loaded from an ESRI Shapefile. The point's latitude and longitude are
known.
Thank you!

...ghealthy ~ a001ter). I can also plot the map using
plot(russia.shp)
Now, I would like to plot the mean probability of employment (i.e.
mean(probworkinghealthy)) on a map of Russia using color coding all
the Federal Subjects. Does anyone know how to do something like that?
Much appreciated,

Compile without OGG support?
Hi,
I need to compile Icecast on a kind of ancient AIX machine. I compiled
all the required libraries, except libvorbis, and I can't make it
compile at all. Is there a way to compile Icecast without Ogg Vorbis
support?
Thanks!

Buffer flushing
...ceiver.receive_data(data): data == "metachunk1chunk2"
I have two possible solutions:
1) Some kind of flush between some of the #send_data calls
2) Explicitly split incoming data
The first one looks better, but i don''t know is it a right design
decision.
Thanks in advance.

Not the case, since the source and Icecast run on the same machine.

Non-Latin labels in identify
...I get garbage.
To check that my file is not corrupt, I've attempted to create the
labels using the text() command and just typing text in Russian into
the R prompt (my locale is set to UTF-8). Once again, I get garbage.
My R version is 2.6.2 running on 64-bit Ubuntu Hardy.
Cordially,

If the zone is expired in the meantime or the TTL is greater than the
time printed, we can try increasing verbosity to spot an issue, or I'll
have to dive into the code.

Eventmachine utils
I''m working on StrokeDB* right now and put pieces of networking stuff
into a separate repository "Eventmachine utils". There are 3 useful
libs already: protocol chaining, messaging protocol and marshalled
messaging protocol. Check them out :-)

Also, I was wondering, one of the AP's I have is the ASUS WL300g. This
is a linux based router/ap. It bridges the wifi interface and the
ethernet interface. I was curious if anyone knew how this worked?
Thanks,

ANN: EMDRb 0.1.0
I am pleased to announce the release of EMDRb version 0.1.0, a
rudimentary implementation of a distributed Ruby server based on
EventMachine. It''s available on Rubyforge at
http://rubyforge.org/projects/emdrb but I must admit that it has thus
far only been lightly tested and still a bit feature incomplete. The
server implementation can already do all of the basic stuff one expects

I need some help with my Dovecot and Postfix configs - I'm unable to log in on my mail server
Autocinfiguration is fine, my problem is that once everything is
(auto)configurated (correctly, checked this) that the server doesn't
accept my login request.
STARTTLS is correct, ports are correct etc. My mail is correct, my
password is correct (tried with copy paste) and also with name as
username and name at domain aswell (name was also copy pasted).

OfflineIMAP is not the way to go. Many ISPs have very low size limits for the mailbox sizes. The one I am looking at right now does have this problem
(unless you pay extra).
