Disable memory balloon in dom0
...y kernel line? Setting to 0 or setting to the same value as dom0_mem disables memory balloon correct? I cant seem to think of a reason why I would want memory ballooning. Also setting dom0-min-mem should that be done in xend-config.sxp or on the kernel command line? -- Nick Anderson <nick@anders0n.net> http://www.cmdln.org http://www.anders0n.net _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Xen system hang or freeze
Hi all, This is my first post to the list, I hope someone out there can help! I am running xen 3.0.3, with CentOS 5.2 based Dom0 (kernel-xen-2.6.18-92.1.22.el5) Recently I have noticed some complete system lockups on a few different servers. Neither Dom0 or any of the guests respond to pings, connecting a keyboard and monitor to the system only shows a blank screen. Nothing is written to logs

development machine with xen on gentoo
Hi all. We just put a relative large server in operation (for our measures ;-) ), a 4x Dual Core / Intel with 16GB Ram and a 3ware 9550SX SATA-RAID with 4 drives. Operating system for the Dom0 is an up-to-date gentoo linux. Everything runs really fine, there are 4 Domu''s running, 1x gentoo and 2x debian and 1x Windows Server 2003. DomU''s are running blazing fast in normal

A simple backup
All, I''ve got one Xen server running CentOS 5, with 3 CentOS virtual machines on it. I have what I hope is a simple question: I''d like to backup the virtual machines. I don''t care about anything but the ability to restore a couple of files and be able to be back up and running quickly. At some point I''ll have a spare server ready to migrate running Xen

Tools to take a kernel crash dump.
Hello Everyone, We have noticed that one of our servers xen Dom0 is restarting idiopathically. Atleast, we are not able to analyze the cause. I have checked the logs but couldn''t find anything relating to it. Are there any tools such as kdump (which doesn''t seem to work on xenified kernels) for catching the kernel crash snapshot. Xen and Enomaly
Hi list, Right now I''ve to find some graphic (or web!) interface to administrate our new data center infrastructure who will be running over Xen. I''ve been googling around to find something, and looks like Enomaly is a good choice. Can anybody give me some feedback about this? Or maybe recommend another front-end interface? Thanks in advance. Boris.

Partition vs disk images
I realize this might be one of those religious topics, but is there any good rule of thumb as to how to setup storage for a Xen domU? Without really knowing any better, I''m basically going to make a disk image of the OS and the create a ''data'' partition on my raid 5 volume for each virtual machine. This is for use at home, so in reality it probably doesn''t

Probably obvious but ...
I am fairly sure that no one else is dumb enough to try this but just in case. I generally run dnetc on most of my machines. I installed it in my latest machine that runs xen in dom0. I noticed that when I booted up a domU it was taking *forever*. I checked all my disk speeds and it ended up being caused by .... you guessed it dnetc. I figured it was only taking up spare cycles but apparently
