Obtaining the PID of a domain's QEMU process from C
Hello all,
I'm currently writing a C program that uses the libvirt API and I need a
way to obtain the pid of a given domain's QEMU process.
Specifically, I'm writing an ivshmem server that uses SO_PEERCRED to get
the pid of clients that connect to it, and I would like to use that pid
to look up the domain in libvirt to determine the proper domain ID to
return to the client.

Re: Obtaining the PID of a domain's QEMU process from C
Thanks for the response. /var/run/libvirt/qemu/ seems to be exactly what
I'm looking for. It would, however, be nice to be able to access this
file without root privileges. Is there any way to access the file using
the credentials from a connected virConnectPtr?
If not, I can stick to my current workaround of walking /proc and
scanning each PID's cmdline for the VM's UUID string.

W95 and no update from samba shares
Hi,
i have a annoying problem that drives me crazy.
We have set up a Digital/Unix box with samba and the clients (W95) can mount
the shares from this box. On the Unix side we create a textfile which will be
periodically (or not) appended with new data. A Application on the W95 side
reads this file.
The Problem is, that the textfile has new lines, the Application don't see
them !!!

Process per share control.
A long time ago, and I could be mistaken, I thought samba could be
configured so that instead of a smbd process per user/machine it would
spawn a process per share/user/machine. If it still can, could someone
point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Replace SBS2003 with Samba4
Hello all,
I'm currently investigating the option to completely replace a SBS2003 DC
with a Samba4 DC. My research (mostly on samba.org guides) shows that it is
feasible, however I'd like to get feedback from the community on my goals.
Current status:
A Windows SBS 2003 is the PDC and a W2008 R2 server is acting as secondary
DC. Domain operational level is 2003.
There are ~40-50

Replace SBS2003 with Samba4
Anastasios,
I've done exactly what you want to do, only starting from SBS2008. Our office went down this
road in 2014 when we investigated upgrading from SBS2008 only to find that MS replacement,
Server Essentials, did not support Exchange. We currently have a "no cloud" policy, so going

Problem with Samba as Member of AD, Kerberos
Hello all,
I have this configuration: Samba 3.0.20 as a member server in Win2K3
AD (runs on Madrake 10.2 - no flames please ;-) ). Winbind works fine
(wbinfo etc are ok), kinit is ok (or seems ok...), and all users are
happy...
Of course there is a BUT...
All the above work fine as long as I use NetBIOS resolution. For
example, my server has "XXX" as a name and
