Nouveau / GeForce 7600 GS / DualHead / AMD64x2
Hi all! I just wanted to tell you that I checked out the latest nouveau version and replaced the old 'nv' driver. Additionally to the installation instruction I added Option "RandR12" "true" to the Device section and Virtual 2560 1024 to the Display subsection in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. Putting xrandr --output DVI-D-1 --auto --output DVI-D-0 --auto

Bug#387361: xen-hypervisor-3.0-amd64: Xen3 keeps rebooting on AMD64X2
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-amd64 Version: 3.0.2+hg9697-2 Severity: normal Hi DDs, I tried to install the binaries for Xen3, AMD64 flavour on Etch. Everything seemed ok - even the menu.lst got updated nicely and autmagically. Still, after a reboot into the Xen Dom0, the machine just reboots again and again. I added 'noreboot' and made a screenshot named 'xenboot.jpg', which

6.1 responsiveness under heavy (cpu?) load + thread monitoring
Hello, I have a RELENG_6/AMD64 with an AMD64X2 cpu, 1GB of memory, 512MB swap. I remarked that when I run 2 simulation program [1], sometimes, one of them run one or several of its threads [2] very slowly, but sometimes, it doesn't occur. I remarked that is doesn't depend on SMP/UP, ULE/4BSD, i386/AMD64. It seems to occur also with th...

Rgui.exe plot device "Save as" crash (PR#9237)
Full_Name: Michael Toews Version: 2.3.1 OS: WindowsXP Home/Proffesional SP2 Submission from: (NULL) (142.58.206.114) Hi, I have a bug that I can reproduce on two different MS Windows platforms (1:AMD64x2/WinXP SP2 Home; 2:P4/WinXP SP2 Prof.) which is triggered by the "Save as" dialog when saving a plot from a Windows device onto the Desktop. This bug is difficult to reproduce, but here are some instructions to attempt a crash: 1) Start R from Start menu 2) Plot something simple, such as &...

problem installing xen kernel on Debian etch
I am currently running kernel 2.6.18-6-686 on Debian Etch 40r3. I am trying to install xen on it. I tried installing linux-image-2.6.18-6- xen-686, but when I restarted, it doesn''t boot instead shows a kernel panic. I ran #apt-get install linux-image-2.6.18-6-xen-686 and changed /boot/grub/menu.lst file to point to current xen kernel. While rebooting it showed kernel panic and

Mongrel spinning on read_multipart
On Zed''s suggestion, I caught two new spinning mongrels and sent a SIGUSR2. The code appears to be stuck in read_multipart for both processes: # kill -USR2 6109 ** USR2 signal received. confusion and frustration with zpool
...nd completed the mirroring which I had intended for some time, and upgraded zfs from v4 to v10. The system was not stable. Reading around, I realized that 512M of RAM and a 32-bit CPU was probably a poor choice for an OpenSolaris, ZFS based web and file server for my home. So I purchased an ASUS AMD64x2 system and 4G of RAM and this weekend I was able to get that set up. However, my pool is not behaving well. I have had "insufficient replicas" for the pool and "corrupted data" for the mirror piece that is on both the USB drives. This confuses me because I''m also see...

Mongrel using way more memory on production than staging. Any ideas why?
I''ve been trying to track down the culprit of erratic behaviour and crashes on my production server (which is split into a number of Xen instances), so set up a staging server so that I could really try to get to the bottom of it. The staging server (also split with Xen) is set up pretty much identically as far as the mongrel_cluster server is concerned (the production box has two
