Printing NT to Linux w\Cannon bjc-4000
I am able to see my printer as a share. Well better put, I see four representations of my printer: ascii, lp2, lp-mono, and raw. I tried the naive thing and just selected lp2 and added the cannon bjc 4000 driver for NT. This didn't work. I get an error report: %%[ Error: undefined; offending Command: K ]%% . . . a bunch of strings that I don't understand. This does not look like the

trouble re-joining NT domain
Hello people! I have observed the following behavior when re-joining NT domains from Linux boxes (RH 5.2, fwiw). 1. follow the directions in the DOMAIN_MEMBER.txt (thanks Jeremy!) to successfully join a domain. 2. restart smbd and nmbd 3. log on to the domain, make use of all of the nice stuff. 4. reboot the Linux box 5. upon attempting to rejoin the domain I observe the following error

Will Firefox 2.X be included/supported in CentOS 5?
I know this mostly depends on what is/will be done upstream, but with the recent announcement that Firefox 1.5.X will only receive updates until April 24, 2007, is Firefox 2.X in CentOS' future? Alfred

yum hangs when Reading Local RPMDB
All of a sudden yum hangs on a Centos 4.5 (updated to the latest patch before 4.6) when I try to use it. "clean metadata" didn't help. The process doesn't die, but doesn't seem to do anything from that point on. strace shows this: futex(0xb76dcae8, FUTEX_WAIT, 2, NULL I

However, the inteface doesn't come up. Google doesn't find anything recent about using Linux with Broadcom except for someone's passing remark that Ubuntu 7 beta
