I have just got word 97 working with wine. The key to it was using winetools. The versions I have used are: winetools - 2.1.1-jo wine - 20050111 Both were installed from rpm files onto my Fedora Core 2, Althlon 1.2 GHz, 256 MByte, xorg 6.7.0-14, GForce2, Nvidia driver version 6629. I went through all of the steps in the basic setup menu. But had to get the fonts from elsewhere - the site winetools tries to use timed out, but do a search for the windows core fonts and you'll find them all. Download th...

I have a very annoying problem that we hear on our end, but the other party doesn't hear. There are random beeps and echo type noises that occur. They are present during voicemails, and present on my end during calls. Is anyone experiencing the same deal? I have asked this a number of ways on the list, and never get a response... Thank you. So perhaps I'm an idiot or just not very music-software literate, but I so far haven't been impressed with Winamp, or the FLAC plug-in. Just for one example, I've got a dual-Althlon MP 2000 system running XP Pro, with 1 gig RAM, 15,000 RPM 3.9 msec access time SCSI Ultra160 hard drives, and a 52X CD ROM drive that does 52X audio ripping.
