Migration from 3.6.25-0ubuntu0.12.04.10 to 4.x with passdb backend = ldapsam Hi. I tried to migrate my storage(smb) server to more newer version, but faced with 'segfaults", after(in progress) client authenticating, when samba tries to start a new smbd instance (as i understand). I saw client authentication success, which interrupts in following places: In case with

severe error in SSH session key recovery patch
http://www.core-sdi.com/advisories/ssh1_sessionkey_recovery.htm includes the line of code: kill(SIGALRM, getppid()); This is contained within what is listed as an "unsupported and untested patch" developed by SSH.com. The problem is that the arguments to "kill" are in the wrong order. In other words, to obtain the effect that was apparently intended, the line of code should have...

Retry interval for attempting to set up a tunnel
Hi, We set up tinc tunnels over 3G when the connection becomes available. It is a mobile environment so connections come and go frequently. We send tinc an ALRM signal to retry a connection, but somehow this fails once in a while. Is there a way to influence the retry interval for connections that are down and the interval increment? We would like to be able to set this to 1 minute after ALRM. We are using 1.0.16, so preferably a setting in that version...

Segmentation fault with latest 1.1 revision
Hello, I am trying 1.1 branch and I experience a segmentation fault upon ALRM signal. This looks like a race condition. I have my tincd daemon instantiated manually in if-up.d/jmuchemb (without IF_TINC_NET) and when if-up.d/tinc runs, it sends a ALRM signal that makes tincd crash. It fails here: Core was generated by `tincd -D -n jmuchemb -d -o ConnectTo srv -o srv.Addres...

Some feedback on Libfuzzer
...Some of the parameters are not entirely clear either -- I'm not clear what the distinction is between -runs and -iterations and I'm not clear whether the timeout is for the whole run or individual tests (it's not doing anything in my case which is probably due to Postgres having its own ALRM handler). 2) I've caught a bug which causes enormous stack growth. AFL enforces strict memory and time limits on the tests which is awfully convenient. I can implement those myself in my fuzzer function (and in fact in the Postgres context it would be best if I did) but some simple AFL-style p...

Can asterisk be programmed to make "alarm calls"?
...ays or else the number becomes disconnected. I have 3 numbers pointed at my asterisk my which work very well but I still had the 30 day problem. Is there a way that I can program asterisk to make a call to my WA numbers so that they wont get disco'd? I'm thinking of something like a "alrm call" that one has in a hotel room. YOu pick up the phone and program a ring back time. Hope this make sense. Thanks G7LTT/KC2ENI Mark Phillips

Tinc hangs if started with network disconnected

After that, it continues trying. I think, I found the cause of the problem: Is tinc using a monotonic / steady clock for timeouts or is it using the system time? If th...

wishes
Hi, some questions or wishes.. - i have some nodes with a dynamic ip, how does tinc handle this? are there keep alive pings? - if i want to force a reconnect (for example if an ip changes), i tried kill -ALRM kill -HUP but there were no reconnects, yes the manpage tells it, but a reconnect would be nice. - it is very important to me, that the interface does not go down. - when will tinc 2 released? :-) - is there a bug-tracking system? i summary, i think the idea how tinc works is great, thanks fo...

Tincd fails to resolve domain names before it is started name resolution becomes available.

Since tinc 1.0.25 and > 1.1pre11, if you send tincd the ALRM signal, it will force glibc to > reload /etc/resolv.conf. Considering how cheap that operation seems to be, would it make sense to call res_init() every time tinc retries a metaconnection? It's not doing that very often anyway... and it would solve the OP's problem.

Tincd fails to resolve domain names before it is started name resolution becomes available.
If tincd is started before name resolution comes up, it keeps failing for ever to resolve domain names in Address= host configuration variable after name resolution becomes possible. I think tincd should succeed in resolving domain names after name resolution becomes available.
