Parallel printer error
...e
print job comes out OK. Jobs from UNIX print without this error. My question is,
is my file getting corrupted as it comes through Samba, or is this a UNIX system
problem and do I need to look elsewhere?
I hope this is enough information. And thanks for any help.

Digital UNIX V4.0B
Samba 2.0.3

R-beta: R-0.62.1 under Digital Unix: plot.new
I am trying to set up R-0.62.1 on an alphastation running digital unix 3.2D.
I had R-0.61.1 working fine, but have had a number of problems getting 0.62.1
going....
The next problem is that plotting to any device causes R to hang. Looking
at processor usage it would appear that it gets stuck in an infinite loop
rather than pausing for input. I ha...

SAMBA 2.0 Packaging request
I do not know how many others are in this case, but I must use either floppies
or tapes to transport the Samba product after I download it.
Floppies are more convenient than tape because the tape medium is TK50 on
OpenVMS and it is very slow.
Is is possible to produce the production release in a two archive set so that
it can be more easily sneaker-netted?
Thank you, John Malmberg

R-beta: locfit package.
I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem getting locfit running.
I am running Digital Unix 3.2D on an alphastation, with R 0.61.1
I downloaded the CRAN distribution of locfit. I had no problems installing it
with R INSTALL (I installed it into my library rather than the default base
library; the output is attached at the end of this email message).
I then tried to test it with the Geyser example in

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on Compaq Alpha
Hello,
I have installed OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on a DEC AlphaServer 4000 under Tru64 UNIX 4.0F
and on a DEC AlphaStation 200 under Tru64 UNIX 5.1.
I tested Protocol 2 and 1 with RAS authentication resp. DSA authentication an
both work well.
There is one bug: I cannot view the man pages for OpenSSH under Compaq Tru64
UNIX. Are they in a special format which is not understood by the Tru64 UNIX man
command?
Here, I w...

a bug? (PR#968)

Dear R,
I would like to report what I think is a bug in R. I am running R
within emacs on a Digital AlphaStation. See the version information
at the end of my R session for details. I also attach a copy of the
file that is read in the `read.table' command.
Here's my R session, with a few comments added in to show what I
think is wrong:
