library manual: documentation of funcs not alphabetically ordered
Hello everybody
I'm putting finishing touches to a library, and have noticed that the
.dvi file that R CMD check
creates does not sort the functions in alphabetical order.
I find this odd because I used the "tidy" routines in section 3.1 of
the R-exts manual, which produce R code in which the functions are
alphabetically ordered (and I performed R CMD check using the

vlmc - "In vlmc(traffic.clusters.stationary, cutoff = i) : alphabet with >1-letter strings; trying to abbreviate"
Dear all (copying the package author),
I have a question on the vlmc package. I am trying to model a time series, where each element can take one of 11 values (the result of some clustering). When I run the following command (synthetic data to facilitate self-contained example) I get the following warning: ("alphabet with >1-letter strings; trying to abbreviate")

how to order each element according to alphabet
Hi there,
I have a large amino acid csv file like this:
input.txt:
P,LV,Q,Z
P,VL,Q,Z
P,ML,QL,Z
There is a problem with this file, since LV and VL are in fact the same
thing.
How do I order each element according to alphabetical order so that the
desired output would look like:
output.txt:
P,LV,Q,Z
P,LV,Q,Z
P,LM,LQ,Z

How to loadby by alphabetical order, not mtime
Hi,
I''m writing my requirements in rspec, however, I can not figure out a
way to execute all specs according to alphabetical order, not by last
modified time.
According to the documentation, it seems like the default is by
alphabetical order, I just can not get that to work. In the unit
tests with the rspec package, seems like only mtime was tested.
Can anyone tell me how to run specs

sorting matrix output alphabetically
Hello,
I have been using the TM package to create a TermDocMatrix, which I
have saved as a matrix so that I can view word frequencies. Below is
a section of the code that I have used and an excerpt of the output:
What I wanted to be able to do is to view the output alphabetically -
rather than the results being sorted by frequency as below, that an
alphabetical list would be generated. This

grouping list of objects in the help system
Dear list,
I've noticed for some packages the Index file in the help system has a
single list of objects (arranged alphabetically), while for other
packages this list is offered separately by letters... presumably when
the number of help objects is high.
Is there a way to manually split the help objects into categories?
For example, I would like to have an alphabetic order for the group

non-standard base64 functions in tinc 1.1
I noticed that the base64 functions in util.c don't produce the
same results as other versions that implement RFC 1421 (and its
successors). This results in PEM files that can only be decoded
by tinc itself.
Is this intentional?
Below is a diff to make tinc's base64 functions match what everyone
else does. This will break existing key files, though, which is
unfortunate.

Writing a Permutation Function
Hi everyone,
I am somewhat new to R and I am trying to write a permutation function such
that it inputs a character vector and from an arbitrary length "n" which is
the length of the combinations for the character vector. I know there are R
packages for permutation but this is for an assignment.
So far this is what I have:

Alphabetical sequence of data along the x-axis in a box plot
Hello All,
I noticed when I generated some boxplots, the data is presented in
alphabetical order along the x-axis (the data in this case was the four
quandrants of a sample area (NE,NW, SE, SW) that was my first column of
data). Is there a way to have R plot the data in a different order? I
imagine you could use a dummy variable, but didn't know if there might
be a simple argument that

a question of alphabetical order
Hi all,
In Spanish vowels with accent like ?, ?, ... doesn't affect to the
alphabetical order of vector of strings. I mean, a or ? don't matter for
establishing the alphabetical order.
Nevertheless, while working with R order, here is what I get.
Given a file transport.txt
medio#variable
avi?n#34
barco#33
bicicleta#3
?ngulo#37
cami?n#54
coche#23
tren#67

Alphabetically sorted list pages + dynamic forms
Hey everyone,
I''m new to RoR - how can I get my database content filtered by alphabet?
Eg, on my php site now I use this format:

How can I get this kind of functionality out of ruby?
Also, how could I go about making a multiple select box of authors, then
depending on how many you chose, the next page of the form displays a

Months in alphabetical order rather than chronological order in graph
Greetings
Though I have months in chronological order in my data table, the data
were sampled every other month (i.e., February, April, June, August,
October, December), every time I try to plot them (on the x-axis) they are
plotted in alphabetical order. What am I missing?
Cheers

change default alphabetic order for bwplot
when producing boxplot from bwplot, I have five groups: Nitrogen, Duration,
Pressure, A, Z. I wish the graphical display is according to the original
order. But the R-function bwplot seems to automatically adjust the groups
according to the alphabetic oder and thus creat a graph for A, Duration,
Nitrogen, Pressure and Z. How can I specify the original order in bwplot?

request: how to assign alphabets to integer values

I am trying to assign alphabets to integer values 1, 2, 3 etc. in y given below. Can any body suggest some simple way to do the same job?
