testing samba 4 alongside samba 3
...6 and ldap
running under openSUSE 12.1 with a win 7 client on virtualbox.
I had not used windows for over 10 years until I set up our SSO lan last
month so I don't know much about AD. I read in the Samba 4 docs that you
can drag and drop machines and users onto the AD.
1. Can I run Samba 4 alongside Samba 3 on my test box?
2. Can I migrate users and machines (in my case a few test users and one
w7 virtual machine) from Samba 3 to Samba 4? Is there a script?
3. For the 'drag-and-drop-users. . .' bit, will I need a GUI on my
openSUSE host?
4. Will I need to administrate Samba 4 from wi...

Getting smbpasswd file to work alongside unencrypted ones
...cmd=117 (SMBtconX) eclass=2
ecode=2
1998/11/27 14:38:17 Transaction 4 of length 70
etc etc
If I restart the server with encrypt passwords = yes I *can* connect to the
share using the encrypted password contained in samba/private/smbpasswd.
Has anyone been able to get the smbpasswd file to operate alongside using
the cleartext UNIX passwords ?

installing wine from cvs alongside deb package
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi.
I'd like to know if there's a way to install the latest CVS wine for
testing purposes while the debian package is still installed?
To be a little more precise I'd like the two installations to share one
fake_windows tree, maybe I might have to store the registries in
different locations.
I'm running wine_0.0.20040914-1_i386.deb on

Hosting your own forums alongside your application
I''ve got my site running on port 80 at www.mysite.com (dedicated Debian
box running Mongrel)
I''ve got my forums running on port 3000 at www.mysite.com (same box,
running Lighttpt).
Any ideas how I can change the forums to run on port 80 at something
like forums.mysite.com ?

I would like to create a table of my points and identify which
'quadrant' of a plot they are in with the 'origin' at the means. the
kicker is i would like to display it right next to or below a ggplot
of the data. Maybe xtable isnt the right thing to use, but its the
only thing i can think of. Any help is appreciated!

testing samba 4 alongside samba 3
**
hello folks,
all started with searching for an MS exchange server connector to fetch my
office my by Thunderbord on my private machine. So far I used Davmaill
(OWA) but I'm not that satisfied, so I found OpenChange but that needs
Samba4 installed on my NAS.
So I was checking the Samba wiki and mailing archive but I'm bit confused.
There are several version available, plus franky, what

user, who complains that it takes a minute or longer to delete a single

multiple IMAP clients so it appears to be server-side.
I wanted to start up a test instance of dovecot alongside the production

and started up the test server like this:
# strace -tt dovecot -F -c /etc/dovecottest.conf
(I could not find the docs for -F but without it dovecot would quickly
detatch into a daemon and I could no longer st...

graphics rendering
Hey
Has anyone got a graphics server running alongside ruby on rails? Kind
of new to graphics rendering on a web server, so some general tips on a
successful direction to go in would be great. I need it for automatic
rescaling of images, similar to flickr.
Thanks,

Can VMWare modules run alongside in XEN kernel?
I would like to have VMware modules running in the XEN kernel, NOT in DOM0 kernel but outside at the hypervisor level, is that possible?
Architecturally, I noticed that xen subbranch does not implement any modules loading. If I were to load the VMware modules directly as an ELF image, will it break any existing architectural feature in XEN?
Thanks :-).

Dual Boot Windows 8 & CentOS 6.4
Hi,
I am studying for the RHCSA Exam and wanted to install CentOS 6.4 alongside Windows 8. I got a new laptop with a processor that supports virtualization.
I am planning to remove all the recovery partitions after backing up all drivers etc. on them. Lets see how it works out.
Any caveats I should know about?

[LLVMdev] PTX target for LLVM?
...#39;s a research paper or thesis to go along with it. Every delay in releasing code just slows down the progress of the the world. That's the only "benefit": slowing the progress of other researchers. If the code is needed to replicate your research, for the love of Turing *publish it alongside the research*.<br />
<br />
Look, the LLVM project has already set a great example with its permissive BSD license and all LLVM development is done out in the open; I see (and read) every commit. The rest of us need to get with the program and follow suit. If you publish research built...

CONNMARK target and connmark match support in Ubuntu kernel
Hi,
as per the shorewall MultiISP documentation ( http://www1.shorewall.net/MultiISP.html
), it says
"Use of this feature requires that your kernel and iptables include
CONNMARK target and connmark match support (Warning: Standard Debian™
and Ubuntu™ kernels are lacking that support!)."
it means MultiISP wont work properly if i am using Ubuntu server. if

CentOS 7 - AltArch i386 - DVD iso?
Just curious. In the two most recent releases of CentOS 7 AltArch i386
there has not been made available a DVD iso (or the live ones) alongside
NetInstall/Minimal/Everything. Any plans to make available the DVD
variation for the current or future releases?
For older 32-bit hardware, it can be nice to be able to burn a single layer
DVD.
Thanks for your time,

Dovecot 1.2/2.0 coexistence guide?
I am running Dovecot 1.2.16 and considering moving up to 2.0.8.
I have found <http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Upgrading/2.0> but there's
not a lot about deploying a 2.0 server alongside an existing 1.2.
Any hints on a seamless approach to this, especially one that might
allow me to upgrade individual users in place, without moving their
maildirs into a new tree and still avoid issues with 1.2/2.0 sharing
access?

CentOS5/6 Dual Boot
Alle,
We currently have a CentOS 5.6 x86-64 server running using about 70G of
a 500GB hardware raid partition. We'd like to install 6.0 alongside this
installation in a dual boot configuration. We tried to install using the
"Use Free Space" installation option, but the installer did not see the
475G of unused space.
Is there any good way to do this, or is it even feasible?
Best Regards,
Camron

Streaming Question
Hello all,
I was having a discussion with a friend of mine last night who is a lighting
designer for shows and productions and we got onto the topic of automated
lighting. Made me think, what would be involved in placing another stream into
the audio, or rather alongside, which could contain lighting instructions?
There is a standard called DMX, and for anyone interested check out:

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/kms/nvd9-: Fix disabling CRCs alongside OR reprogramming
While I had thought I'd tested this before, it looks like this one issue
slipped by my original CRC patches. Basically, there seem to be a few
rules we need to follow when sending CRC commands to the display
controller:
* CRCs cannot be both disabled and enabled for a single head in the same
flush
* If a head with CRC reporting enabled switches from one OR to another,

By the way, the R program itself is really badly in need of an "appropos()" to

"huntAndPeck()".

Status of debuginfo-tests
...h that it would only
run on Windows and only if a suitable debugger was found (probably
WinDbg). WinDbg supports a JavaScript-based scripting model, similar to
how LLDB supports a Python based model, so my thoughts were to have a
lit-based runner that scans for .js files that contain a test script
alongside some source, then build the program, run it in WinDbg with some
script that does various things, and exits the debugger, moving on to the
next test.
Anything I should be aware of / careful of when messing around in here?
And any reason it can't be moved to llvm/tests and ported to lit?
