security = ADS with libkrb53.
...I need 1.3.3, but
don't particularly want to compile from source. I'm running a Debian
Stable machine, so was wondering if anyone knows of where I can get a
backport to woody of the newest Kerberos packages. I've tried the
normal places and even a few not so normal.
Anyone?
TIA..

LDAP + Samba + Windows2003
...a PDC and have it join the Windows 2003 server domain and
build samba with a ldap backend. Is there another way to do this so as I
will not have to setup samba to be a PDC. I have already setup my ldap
server using posix types accounts. Is this different that the Samba
accounts.
Thanks

changing passwords with pam_winbind.so
...is
smbpasswd works fine when called as
'smbpasswd -r (PDC NAME) username'.
Am I running around in circles trying to get something to work that won't?
I've considered writing my own PAM interface based on the smbpasswd
code and a pam password module. Any thoughts?
Thanks all,

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Samba + ldap issues
...ed the smbldap-usemod -B -1 &username to disable the SambaPwdMustChange. Also tried to set the SambaAcctFlags to UX. We set this ldap server up in hurry and did not have a chance to implement a proper password policy. This is using the stock version of Samba and LDAP that came with RHEL5.

Problems w/ winbind and AD group membership
Hello friends,
I am using samba to join a linux box to an active directory domain to
use as a file server. I would like to be able to control access to
shares based on AD domain groups. However, even though winbind seems to
be seeing the groups fine, samba is not granting access to users who are
members of the group. I am able to successfully join the system to the
domain and granting access to
