SE Michigan asterisk users group
...of getting an asterisk user group together for either SE
Michigan or just Metro-Detroit.
How much interest in asterisk in Michigan is there on this list?
I am already on the board of glimasoutheast, with is a group for
technology professionals. (very broad range)
It is a spin-off from Automation Alley, which is SE Michigan's version
of Silicone Valley.

amazon web services and CentOS
...turn asking Amazon what they are doing to make CentOS
available on their EC2 platform.
After much conversation to / from their end, they are in a situation
where they have offered me some access and credits to make the whole
CentOS on AWS happen. This is the sort of thing right up the VirtSIG
alley, so am wondering if there are people here who would like to help
out at all ?

Any liberally-licensed open source projects out there that make good use of RSpec?
I''m trolling for example RSpec code. Any pointers appreciated.

MoH - always starting from the beginning
Hi,
I have a customer running a 120 second long WAV file on their MoH. The
problem is that it's always starting from the beginning, so people being put
on hold, talked to, put on hold again, etc always hear the first 10-15
seconds.
Is there a way to have Asterisk MoH remember where it left off? Or at the
very least just play the same stream to all people using the same MoH class,

Dug myself into a hole
...t build a CentOS 6 machine to replace my old machine which
broke to where I could not fix it. In attempting to get the applications
running which had worked on the old machine, I did updates from several
repos such as rpmforge, atrpms, livna, epel, etc.
Some of the attempts ended going down blind alleys.
Now I have a mix of rpm's from various sites that I do not need, but they
are listed as dependencies of other rpm's.
The rpmforge rpm's are marked with "rf".
Is there a process to check which of these rpm's are also in the
base libraries and force them back in?

SysVinit guidance, please
...ot about the
anomaly that I had almost noticed.
I had a real power failure 2 days ago and tried to be more observant.
What had gotten my attention earlier is that the once-familiar banner
displayed on about everything except my room's ceiling was missing.
After some red herrings and blind alleys (hey, you don't have to worry
about mixed metaphors when you're an illiterate old coot!) I decided
that the missing banners and the fact that the power was killed while a
graphical page was displayed was what I saw.
Anyhow, it seems that these extinct banners were a function of the

Vista (pre-installed OEM editions) creating new files or folders on network shares
Hi,
This post is to prevent other people that are having trouble with Vista
clients from going down a blind alley investigating problems in their samba
configurations.
After some research I have found (see link below) that there is a general
problem for pre-installed OEM editions of Vista Business (and possibly other
vista versions) in creating files and folders on network shares.
The problem presents itself...

inverse examples? (should fail)
The new "pending" example feature reminds me of a feature I''ve been
bouncing around in my head, to aid in refactoring. Often, when I''m
changing existing behaviour, I know that certain aspects of the old
behaviour should change. Imagine changing the "it" method to perhaps
"not" or "old" or "removed"... The behaviour would be to

Changes to manager outputs - A discussion
...setting
to determine which output format to use: further more we could slowly
update all of the manager events until they are all available in old and
new formats.
I know that perhaps I've talked a load of BS - I would appreciate it if
people could comment on this before I head up a blind alley. I feel that
it would be more useful and easier for us as developers if there were a
common event manager layout, rather than a fixed number of lines per
action type / event type, and one that follows a more common data /
record layout.
Please feel free to comment / flame whatever.

[LLVMdev] [RFC] July Update: Progress report on CMake build system's ability to replace autoconf
Hi Chris,
Looking forward to continued support for CMake!
Along that note, I wanted to add one bug to your list of things to track,
which to me seems up your alley but maybe was filed in the wrong bucket (or
is actually someone else's problem).
Bug 24154 - CMake shared files are broken in llvm-3.7-dev
Cheers,
Brenden

vanilla rsync 3.0.9 hangs after transferring ~2000 files
Hello rsync folks
I'm trying to use rsync for backing up our servers. This mostly works extremely well, with no problems.
However, 1 server is giving me a lot of trouble. It has a directory with (currently) 734088 files in it, and every time I try to backup this dir, rsync hangs after transferring roughly 2000 files. Sometimes it's around 1800, sometimes it's over 2100 (I think), but

[LLVMdev] [RFC] July Update: Progress report on CMake build system's ability to replace autoconf
Hi LLVMDev,
The following issues have been fixed since the last update I sent out.
Completed:
* Bug 19462 - Use the INSTALL(EXPORT ...) to export CMake definitions
* Bug 21561 - Update release scripts to use CMake
These issues are still outstanding. Classification of blocking vs non-blocking are my own opinions, please let me know if you disagree. All non-blocking issues are still serious bugs

Am failing on making lagged residual after regression
...ordinary linear regression. My goal is: After a
regression, to make residuals, and make a new variable which is the
lagged residuals (lagged by 1). I will use this variable in a 2nd
stage regression (for an error-correcting model).
This sounds simple and reasonable, and should be right up R's alley,
but I am just not able to do this. Can I please show you the steps
which I'm trying and failing in?
I start with:
> m = lm(NNDA ~ NFA + NFA.x.d1 + NFA.x.d2 + IIP.n + CRR, D.f)
> e = residuals(m)
> print(e)
