Unicode support in FXRuby 1.6
All,
As some of you know, Jeroen has added support for Unicode strings in
the unstable development version of FOX (version 1.5). I''m trying to
plan ahead to decide how best to support this for FXRuby 1.6, but I
don''t really know anything about Ruby''s support for Unicode or i18n in
general. If you''re familiar with this topic (how/if Ruby deals with

Resilvering Loop
...rtain point, then starts over.
There no read, write or checksum errors. The disks do have a fair
amount of resilvering to do, as I''ve had a variety of disk failures.
But at the core of things, there''s enough parity data to avoid data
loss, and the zpool is functioning fine, albeit in a degraded state.
I''ve been trapped in this loop before and it''s been resolved by
changing the disk configuration somehow. But that is just like
shooting in the dark and can be a very time-consuming process.
Is there a more proper way to approach this issue? Should I be f...

Yes, of course. And the directory structure was pretty much identical between the two. Which was how I was able to write and run the rsync script.
I think at this point, I'm past the dsync problems. That window has closed, and the migration is done, albeit with this irritating re-downloading of email with POP problem. However I'm still keen to get to the bottom of how this whole UID/UIDL/POP3 transaction takes place, so I can understand it for the future, and prevent it happening again. I'm guessing it would be a useful addition to the doveco...

clang -xc++ foo.o
clang -xc++ -c 1.c 2.c
clang -xc++ main.c 1.o 2.o
1.o:1:1: error: source file is not valid UTF-8
Would be nice, albeit I realize kinda proby/non-deterministic/big, if .o files were recognized and -xc++ did not apply to them.
I'm converting C to C++ and don't want to rename files, at least at this point, maybe forever.
For now I've compromised and main remains C. It is much smaller than the various lib...

Asterisk dual contexts stupidity
...r too long...
I have two contexts, day and night...
Caller (Daytime) --> Dials an extension --> Caller hears extension ring
on receiver --> Call goes through
Caller (Night) --> Dials an extension --> Caller hears silence until vm
picks up --> Leaves a voicemail...
Significant albeit insanely stupid Asstricks message:
2007-01-30 09:22:57 DEBUG[9946]: pbx.c:2300 __ast_pbx_run: Oooh, got
something to jump out with ('2')!
(Oooh how about creating errors we can figure out Digium!)
Any thoughts

About the membership issue
Concerning the disabled membership (yesterday). Is there anything that I should do?
Visiting the "re-enable" link shows only a plain site with meta information about
the list but without any feedback like "membership enabled". Albeit some postings are
coming in again now (with "normalized" sender address <centos at centos.org>). Seems
the work to resolve this issue is in progress ...

Question from Newbie on PostScript and Multiple Plots
...ostScript file I get one page for each plot. I have adjusted my
postscript options so that my plots are the size that I want and the paper
is set to portrait, I just can't figure out how to get all three plots on
one page in the postscript file. I've been through the archives on the list
(albeit not exhaustively) and the manuals available on the R site and cannot
figure out how to solve my problem.
Thanks,

File descriptor passing broken in FreeBSD 7?
...tests fail on FD passing, as do the Ruby
1.8.6 standard unit tests. They all fail with EBADF
I've also tried this test case (with minor appropriate changes to file
paths etc.)
http://www.gnome.org/~markmc/code/test-descriptor-passing.c
Again it works in FreeBSD 6, but not in FreeBSD 7 (albeit with
ECONNREFUSED not EBADF).
Any ideas?
Cheers

NLS results different from Excel -- Tricky fortunes nomination

"The idea that the Excel solver "has a good reputation for being fast

ability to solve the StRD nls test problems. ...
Excel solver does have the virtue that it will always produce an

I also leave it to others to modify what is excerpted if appropriate.

Samba process pegging CPU
...ge and eating up a lot of virtual and resident memory. While this is happening I get a "ERROR(runtime): DsReplicaGetInfo of type 0 failed - (-1073610723, 'NT_STATUS_RPC_PROTOCOL_ERROR')" error when I try to run the samba-tool drs showrepl command. When that singular process drops (albeit temporarily) I can get the samba-tool command to complete. It shows everything is replicating successfully. This is happening on both of my Samba 4.1.9 servers. One is Ubuntu Server 12.04 and the other is Ubuntu Server 14.04. It seems to be pegged more on the 12.04 box though. I'm also seeing t...

barplot() x axes are not updated after removal of categories from the dataframe
...barplot().
The first call to barplot works fine.
I remove records from the dataframe using final=[!final$varname == "some
value",]
I echo the dataframe and the records are no longer in the dataframe.
When I call plot again however, the X axis still contains the removed
category values albeit with a count of 0.
How can I stop the removed categories appearing in the barplot? Are they
stored globally after the first barplot call?
thanks in advance for your help.

Suggestions for a plug and play CA certificate manager?
I have played with self-signed end-use PKI certificates for about a decade
now and would really like to set up a proper, albeit private, PKI using
some sort of OFS CA management software. I have looked at OpenCA and found
a few packages on sourceforge but they all seem to fall short of my
desires in one form or another (rpm install, multiple subordinate CAs,
certificate revocation and extension management, web-based or

Loading Xen with PXELinux
Hi All:
I found this old message on the web archives. I've gotten Xen working with
PXELinux, albeit with something of a hack. The basic chain is:
1. pxelinux
2. memdisk
3. FAT16 floppy image
4. grub installed on floppy image
5. xen.gz and vmlinuz on floppy image
While this seems pretty simple, the key bits were to use:
1. FAT16 (not ext2, etc) for the floppy image
2. use the 'raw' flag...

[LLVMdev] RFC: Using zlib to decompress debug info sections.
...rcut. We like to include libraries in the source to make it easy to get up and running without having to install a ton of dependencies. However, this has license implications and is generally annoying.
Given that zlib is so widely available by default, and that the compiler can generate correct (albeit uncompressed) debug info, I think the best thing is to *not* include a copy in llvm. Just detect and use it if we can find it, but otherwise generate uncompressed output.

passthroughed msix device
Hi maintainer,
Reprodue an bug on xen-unstable, it''s an irq affinity issue for
passthroughed msix device to uek1 pvhvm(2.6.32 stable).
I passthrough two mptsas devices(0000:0d:0.0, 0000:1f:0.0) to a pvhvm,
irq affinity can''t be changed.
Step to reproduce is as below:
1. xl -f pci-assignable-add 0000:0d:0.0; xl -f pci-assignable-add
0000:1f:0.0
2.xm cr -c vm.cfg
