php script for listener count and www admin interface password
i have tried every password specified in the conf file (including
admin_password) and every conceivable default as the username and/or
password for this dialog... no luck.

but certain pages bring up an HTTP authentication dialog.
where is the user/pass for the admin interface set? again this is a
debian system so i'm not sure if the package is configured
differently...

i am looking for a simple php script or anything really that will allow
me to display a listener count on a simple web page. "5 users currently
connected" sort of thing. i have scoured the web with no luck. i would
even settle for a shell script that would pull the number out of the
icecast.conf file. i don't care how it happens as long as it isn't a
windows program.

Dave's yp test location is working fine and is up to date. He said he was
going to switch it over to the default location but didn't quite finish the
job.

Oh.. Just read your mail a little more careful... I misinterpreted it :D
But you can use the http://your.stream.ip.here:port/list.cgi to achieve
that.

IP's (126.1.120.*, my internal ones) in icecast.conf. The access control is
at the bottom of that list. Here is what I have:
acl_policy 0
allow all 126.1.120.*
allow all 127.0.0.1 *
allow client *

Admin headaches
Greetings
I just migrated from a Debian install to a Gentoo install, and I'm
having some issues getting the admin page to work.
I have setup the acl policy and hosts.allowed the same way as on
the Debian box, but I can't figure out how to use the *.aut files.
When I try to connect to the admin page, I get this:

Impossible to connect to ANY yp server
Greetings
I'm having problems announcing my stream on any yp server, using
Icecast v1.3.12 compiled with the optimization support.. I have
tried every directory server I could find, but I still get the same
result.
When I start icecast with an yp server available, I get this:
[09/Feb/2003:14:52:47] Using xaudiocast directory server
[yp.icecast.org:80/cgi-bin/touch]
