akmod-nvidia update, lose openGL functionality
Sorry if this has been dealt with, but I couldn't find it in a search. I updated Fedora to the new kernel build, and there are no current drivers for nvidia cards for that. That's fine, livna made a new neat thing called akmod-nvidia that appears to have built the drivers very nicely (quite pleased with that). All is happy and shiny from within Linux (compiz works and openGL games work

doveadm search -A tries to create mailboxes
...d to check 'CorpNews' which a few users have, after running 'search' now everyone has it. The man page doesn't mention that 'search' updates anything. I provide this feedback because Dovecot is great software and want it to continue to be. Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)
Hi all! Running Centos-6.latest on an AMD six-core Vishera processor. It's been running for a year on that hardware. today I swapped out the video card (from Nvidia 9800GT to Nvidia 460 GTX) hoping to get a little more horsepower, and the ability to run the Folding At Home GPUclient. I know that's an old card, it's a hand-me-down from my son who just replaced it with a new 970 GTX

Hard-Locks and graphics card driver issues
Hello, This is my first post on this list. I am experiencing very often hard-locks while using different wine versions (from wine 0.9.58 until 1.0-rc3). My OS is Fedora 9 x86_64 and I also compiled 1.0-rc3 how the wine wiki told me to do. I am also experiencing hard-locks just by using winetricks. The hard-locks appear not immediately but sporadically. But that's a kernel issue I guess,

conflicts in updating to CR repo
Note, first of all I haven't actually updated, I'm just running "yum update" to see what conflicts, if any, I get so I can be prepared when the final 7.7 release happens. I've traditionally used the nvidia packages from elrepo, but recently enabled rpmfusion (back when I started using 7.x, I disabled rpmfusion because it took them a looooong time to get a EL7 repository up).

IRC question: How to install a kernel module using virt-customize
21:26 < ibravo> hello. I'm trying to install a kernel module to a VM Image. How can I do this using virt-customize? Please stay in the IRC channel after asking questions! Anyway, the answer depends on the guest and the kernel module. For example if it was a Debian guest and you wanted to install the ZFS dkms package, then following the instructions here:

Question on CentoS 7.4 on nvidia
I installed the elrepo kmod-nvidia and also the nvidia-detect and modules (see below). I had X working with the 3.10 from Centos - but video was freezing. SO I thought I would try the elrepo kernel. I installed that and X does not come up? How do I re-make the nvidia module for 4.14.5 kernel? I want to make sure the kmod kernel did it. I 'm thinking it did not. lspci | grep VGA says

Transform and "Lenses xx and xx could be used to load this file"

However if the Augeas lens happens to contain that path already, things go wrong: augtool> transform passwd i...
