Does tinc have something akin to openvpn's --tls-auth ? Or do I not need that at all ?
Hello,
I wanted to ask if tinc had something akin to openvpn's --tls-auth
option, for all the reason's listed here:
https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/Hardening
I have read http://www.tinc-vpn.org/documentation-1.1/tinc.pdf, but I
have not seen anything similar.
Or do I not need that feature at all because tinc handles cryptology...

rsyncd.conf missing option akin to --one-file-system
It seems to me that rsyncd.conf does not provide an option akin to rsync's
--one-file-system command line argument. If that is true, it seems like a
bug of ommission, as I now face a use case where I need it.
Is there maybe some technical reason for the ommission?
Thanks,

Dovecot, LDAP and something akin to Postfix' "table search order" from virtual deliver.
hi, i've found this topic while looking for a solution for the way to
use 'mail groups' with dovecot an postfix, using dovecot as LDA.
i'm not sure if this patch is implemented into the source or not.
or maybe there is a 'special' way to have multilpe mailboxes served by
postfix/dovecot?

Finding the adjusted confidence intervals in a group sequential trials (akin to GroupSeq), but in a simulation setting
Hi there,
I want to find the adjusted confidence intervals in group sequential trials
in a simulation setting. GroupSeq provides me with what I am looking for in
an interactive setting, but I am not sure how to make it work in a
simulation setting so that it produces a series of adjusted confidence
intervals for a series of Z-statistics that I provide it without me having
to enter each

Fax machine detect (akin to AMD)
Has anyone done any fax machine detection on outbound calls? I've heard
of NV's fax detect app but I haven't seen any indications that it
supports outbound fax machine detection.

help in function in R akin to macro in SAS
Dear Whom it may concern,
I need help to figure the "macro" function in R: I need to plot the
different data sets by a plotxyf function, I want the title to be different
for different data set.
# get the data set
final.xyf<- xyf(data=as.matrix(my.final),
Y=classvec2classmat(final$outcome), xweight = 0.5, grid=somgrid(5, 4,
"hexagonal"))
#plot function

automatic exploration of all possible loglinear models?
Is there a way to automate fitting and assessing loglinear models for
several nominal variables . . . something akin to step or drop1 or add1
for linear or logistic regression?
Thanks.

Dovecot, LDAP and something akin to Postfix' "table search order" from virtual deliver.
Hi.
/* The short version. */
Is there a way to mimic Postfix' "table search order" in Dovecot's LDAP
configuration of pass_filter/user_filter?
/* Here goes the detailed description :) */
Just to quote the http://www.postfix.org/virtual.8.html:
---
TABLE SEARCH ORDER
(...)
The search order is as follows. The search stops upon the
first successful lookup.

[LLVMdev] mov instruction in LLVM IR
The input language is at assembly level, and the location akin to a %temp (
a virtual register if you will) and contains moves from one virtual to
another. Though these are not like memory but I could represent them as
local variables and do loads and stores; so I dont know how to represent it
in C except as local variables.

PDF views?
I know there''s wiki page on generating PDF[*], but that''s not really
what I want. I don''t need to create arbitrary PDF. What I''d like to do
is create PDF templates and fill in the blanks. Roughly, I''m looking
for functionality akin to the mail merge feature of word processors,
including conditional and repeated elements, say, table rows.

lapply() reccursively
Hi all,
I was wondering whether it is possible to use the lapply() function
to alter the value of the input, something in the spirit of :
a1<-runif(100)
a2<-function(i){
a1[i]<-a1[i-1]*a1[i];a1[i]
}
a3<-lapply(2:100,a2)
Something akin to a for() loop, but using the lapply() infrastructure.
I haven't been able to get rapply() to do this.
The reason is that the "real" a2 function is a difficult function that only needs to be evaluated if the value of a1[i-1] meets some criteria.
Thanks in advance,

webmin and DNS configuration on CentOS 6.2
Hello listmates,
I have two seemingly identical (in this reglard, at least) machine - both
of them are running CentOS 6.2 with bind (bind-chroot) installed. I used
webmin to edit the DNS configuration. One one of them it seems to work
fine, on the other I get messages akin to the following:
Failed to create master zone : Failed to replace
/var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf with
/var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf.webmintmp.13214 : Device or resource busy
>From what I can tell, the file

Conversion of strings to expressions
...unction which is able to convert the string "vec" into the vector vec itself.
The purpose of this is to be able to do something like
>somefunc("vec")==2
[1] FALSE TRUE FALSE TRUE
I hope it is clear from this what the problem is. It seems to me that the
function desired is akin to a sort of "inverse" to the quote() function, but I
have been unable to find such a function.
I am using R 1.9.1 on Windows 2000 SP4. Does anyone have a suggestion of how
to solve the problem?
Thanks,

Ruby at O''Reilly Rough Cuts
Not sure if this is old news or not, but it would appear that both the
Ruby Cookbook and a Rails book are now available for purchase at
O''Reilly Rough Cuts (something akin to PragProg''s beta book program):

http://my.safaribooksonline.com/?mode=roughcuts&srchtext=ROUGHCUTS
I haven''t tried them yet, but it definitely seems worth checking out.

How do you expand memory capability (Was: R crashes in Windows ME)
Hello-
Since my data bank in SPSS has > 40 variables, I think that R crashes because of the memory limit.
In Maindonald?s UsingR text, on pg 3, there?s a footnote that reads:
"If you want larger memory space than the default you may want a target akin to
<path to binary>\rw091\bin\rgui.exe --visize 30M --nsize 1000K
[The default is --vsize 6M --nsize 250K (...)]
I tried that, but R still crashes.
How come?
Thanks for any help,
Regards,
Henry L.

OpenSSH.org Differences Between 3.9p1, 3.8p1, and 3.7p1
Can someone tell me where I can find a list of changes made between
these releases of openSSH?
I saw the diff files available for the various releases but I'm
looking for something more akin to release notes that will give me an
overview of the changes between releases.
Thanks; Phil

Convert list to data frame while controlling column types
Hello all,
I have a list which I'd like to convert to a data frame, while
maintaining control of the columns' data types (akin to the colClasses
argument in read.table). My numeric columns, for example, are getting
converted to factors by as.data.frame. Is there a way to do this, or
will I have to do as I am doing right now: allow as.data.frame to coerce
column-types as it sees fit, and then convert them back manually?...

Running "all possible subsets" of a GLM (binomial) model
I have spent a fair amount of time looking for a package that is automated
to run glm (binomial) regression models with all possible subsets of my
independent variables. Something akin to Lumley's "leaps" package, but can
be applied to glms, not just lms; or something similar to Stata's brute
force "tryem" function? If anyone can point me in the right direction I
would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Eric vdWal
