Airprint to old printer using Centos server
Hi folks,
I've found a number of articles on setting up a Linux / CUPS / Avahi server to
allow airprinting, but they all seem to be quite old.
Two questions:
1) Does anyone have a link for a more recent article, hopefully specifically
for Centos7.
2) I'm on a structured, VLAN network. Will I have to put a WIFI card into my
Centos server to give it a presence on the WIFI before this will work?...

I've not seen specific instructions for CentOS 7, but when I last did
this the actual AirPrint script was simple enough that I d...

Centos 6 Airprint using CUPS/Avahi
I've set up another airprint server, but this time I've had to use Centos 6
because of the age of the kit I'm using - an old 1U rack server.
I've configured CUPS and also Avahi. I've run airprint-generate.py and copied
the .service files to /etc/avahi/services/
Everything looks fine until I try to print from my IPhone. I usually test by
trying to print an email. As soon

force CUPS print server to fit-to-page
Greetings,
I've just set up an AirPrint server for a home office by following
instructions in
https://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2013/154/AirPrint-in-Linux
and
https://github.com/jpawlowski/airprint-generate
Printer works just fine except for a problem described in

Server turns off unexpectedly
A few weeks back I built a new Centos 7 server from a 4 year old workstation
PC, and a brand new HDD.
This PC had no prior problems other than it ran Windows 7. Thew new HDD is
because I'm planning to also use it as a Bacula storage device.
For the moment is purely an AirPrint server, using CUPS and Avahi so is ide
99.9% of the time.
My priblem is that twice now it has turned itself off,

Reliable way of having both LAN and WIFI on headless box
Once again I am building a headless Centos 7 box that needs to reliably be on
both the LAN and WIFI network at all times. Amongst other things it's going
to be an AirPrint bridge enabling IPads to print to printers on a different
VLAN.
I have asked about this before and got a solution working using nmtui to set
up both the LAN and WIFI interface, and activate them. However, the WIFI

getent not working after installing firewall
...an app
All the client OS are native supporting the vpn setup.
And openvpn as backup, for network not supporting ipsec passthrough.
Or, install pfsence, does the same as the cisco and probley more.
You want apple stuff.. Install avahi on every server, samba/cups etc, should work out of the box.
Airprinting through cups works fine here, that needs some work, but im running it about 2 years now.
If you want info about above just pm me, no problem.

Network Manager - force activation of multiple connections
For each of my sites I have set up a server to act as AirPrint server. This
requires the LAN connection that the servers have always had, plus a WIFI
connection to give it a presence on the WIFI (The WIFI and LAN are on
separate VLANS)
I have finally dragged myself into the 21st century and used NetworkManager
for the connection, using nmtui to do the work.
The problem I have is that on

Blank printers names while browsing remote printers
Hai Olivier,
Looks to me its a small problem, but lets start here.
First, can you post your:
cat /etc/samba/smb.conf
cat /etc/nsswitch.conf
cat /etc/resolv.conf
cat /etc/hosts
dpkg --get-selections | egrep "samba|winbind|libnss|pam|avahi|dbus"
(some people may see libnss(-mdns)/avahi/dbus not needed, yes, thats correct, but i use this for my airprint solution.)
Last, check this
