Hangs on multiple small files
I am running rsync on win9x (PIII 900, 128MB RAM) between a mapped network drive and a local drive. For small folders on this machine rsync works great, but the folder I am syncronising with has 13GB of data and > 1,000,000 files. Out of about 20 attempts rsync has only succeded once, all other times it just seems to hang. Not much info but any ideas? Thanks Scott

Bell Canada Caller-ID
...nes and caller ID boxes) check for both DN and DDN and will display either - 3Com ones for instance (and is there a general patch, perhaps for Unimodem?). Otherwise, you just have to avoid TAPI and use software that specifically knows about this quirk - Identafone <http://www.ainslie.org.uk/callerid/cli_soft.htm#Identafone> is one, but most Canadian authors seem to have found out about this the hard way ;-). Actually only our base number shows up. If I understand it correctly, in every call the

Hi I wonder whether anyone got the Sipura ata 3000 to decode British Telecoms callerid and pass it to asterisk? The userguide seems to suggest that this is not possible, is that right? Conrad

Dahdi/callerid issue
Hi All, Maybe someone knows this, im using dahdi in combination with a TDM400, where 2 analog PSTN lines are connected. The weird thing is tho that when someone calls the analog lines it goes perfectly fine, the line comes in and all works ok. Except: Sometimes the callerid from the caller is not the complete number, but only a few random numbers from that phonenumber, and sometimes its complete.

FreeBSD firewall block syn flood attack
Hello, I current have a FreeBSD 4.8 bridge firewall that sits between 7 servers and the internet. The servers are being attacked with syn floods and go down multiple times a day. The 7 servers belong to a client, who runs redhat. I am trying to find a way to do some kind of syn flood protection inside the firewall. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -- Ryan James ryan@mac2.net

Caller ID with BT CD50
Hi All, Having searched the archives, I can see there has been much discussion at various points regarding capture of caller id information from good old BT. If I understand correctly, it seems that not only do the drivers not currently support it, but my X101P possibly/probably can't do it anyway due to hardware? So, that leaves me with the modem route, which seems more and more unlikely,
