migrating accounts and passwords
...n I look inside the file created by: pdbedit -e
smbpasswd:/root/migrate/smbpasswd.old, I see the old UIDs ?!
How do I migrate Samba accounts while making the jump seamless for my users?
i.e. preserve UID/GID and most importantly, passwords.

XP Pro - Domain Login ... great trauma and sorrow
I really think this is a Windows problem, but since my very good friend Bill refuses to return my calls ...
The client is WinXP Professional
The server is RedHat 7.1 with SAMBA 2.2.2-8
I have rtfm several times both the ENCRYPTION and PDC-Howto, and I think I have implemented all of the requisite registry and passwd/smbpasswd/smb.conf settings.

Problem accessing Samba Share from Windows
Hello everybody,
I am using Ubuntu 12.04LTS server running samba server on it. I have
problem accessing the shares from Windows XP with \\servername\share,
but no problem accessing \\ip\share. How can i correct this problem?. I
have tried every single example found on google with no good results.
Any help will be appreciated.
