Newbie: Directory Not Accessible
I am a newbie to samba. I have successfully setup a similar samba share on 1 machine in the past.
I have everything setup as User access with the pcguest as a guest account. If I create a share to
the /tmp, network users can access normally. I created a directory /var/snd and set permissions to
be rwxrwxrwx. I changed the smb.conf so that permission were identical to the share for /tmp. I

eRuby & Rails: Not Compatible
I''m new to Ruby, Rails, and this list. I''ve tried searching for an
answer but it all seems to be over my head. I have all the books but
again they seem to leave me on my own to figure out the stuff that
really matters. Where is the best place to find out the details?
Exactly what are these much celebrated "naming conventions"; i.e. where
do I find an exhaustive

Structure of the Xen source code
Structure of the Xen source code
hi all,
I installed Xen on my Gentoo machine successfully from source.
Now i am going through the code.
instead of banging aimlessly for a week or so i thought i should ask the mailing list the following small doubts.
I noticed that following directories are there in my
xen-3.0.3_0-src directories.
1. linux-2.6.-xen-sparse
2. pristine-linux-2.6.16.29
3. linux-2.6.16.29-xen
4. ref-linux-2.6.16.29
5. linux-2.6.16.29-xen0

Would a spreadsheet be a good project using LLVM?
I am thinking about writing a new open source spreadsheet
application since I think the spreadsheet applications out
there (Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc, etc.) do not have
some features that I would really like to use. I would like
the spreadsheet to recalculate very fast and wondered if it
would make sense to use LLVM to calculate the cell values
quickly. Each cell of a spreadsheet

how to do calculations in data matrices?
Please give me just a reference where I can find something useful.
In summary, I need to :
- find the median of each row of a matrix
- create a new matrix with each value in the first matrix divided by the median of its row
- if a value "a" in the second matrix is < 1, I need to substitute it with 1/a
I know that for some of you it must be overeasy, but I swear I googled for two

Singularity in a regression?
R friends,
In a matrix of 1s and 0s, I'm getting a singularity error. Any helpful ideas?
lm(formula = activity ~ metaF + metaCl + metaBr + metaI + metaMe +
paraF + paraCl + paraBr + paraI + paraMe)
Residuals:
Min 1Q Median 3Q Max
-4.573e-01 -7.884e-02 3.469e-17 6.616e-02 2.427e-01
Coefficients: (1 not defined because of singularities)

You're probably all tired of people like me...
Alright. Fedora 13. Wine. Steam. kgo.
It's not working. Steam 'updates' to its latest release on installation (as it should) but the app quits as soon as it launches.
I ran it from the terminal and get the following error dump:
Code:
[David at localhost Steam]$ wine steam
fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation ((nil),0x32e488): stub
