I installed AIM 5.9 via Wine in Ubuntu 8.04, however I'm not hearing any sound. I configured Wine to use the ALSA driver and I tested another application under Wine and the sound worked fine. Does anyone know how I might go about getting the sounds in AIM to work?

Thought I''d post this in case it''s of use to anyone. Maybe even a recipe? It''s just some simple helpers to show AIM status on a webpage. I searched before coding it, and didn''t find anything similar. Just installed Aim for win 98 using Wine, and it ended up putting a nice Aim icon on my KDE desktop with the wine command in to start aim - i.e. wine "/mnt/win98/Pro...." This is getting really smooth! Simon

when I try to run aim.exe under wine, i get the following error: err:shell:SHGetSpecialFolderPathA Failed to create directory 'C:\WINNT\Application Data'. why is it looking for that folder there?
