more on ailing printer system
I cranked the debug level to 10. Below is a transcript from the client log file of a client trying to open a Properties dialog for the HP 4500 printer. I am puzzled as to why Samba would be looking for a user with the name of a printer. Is this normal behavior? Anyway, about a minute after the last log entry below, the client showed a dialog "Printer properties cannot be

Ailing MATE desktop
I need some C8 troubleshooting help with MATE. I'm building a ZFS storage server with a SuperMicro H11SSL motherboard, EPYC 7232 CPU, and 32 GB ECC SDRAM. I installed CentOS 8.1.1911 from the iso as soon as it was released. I'm using the on-board ASPEED VGA video. I installed MATE v1.22 from https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/stenstorp/MATE/. The following packages are installed:

vectorizing an iterative process.
Hi Everyone, I am stuck with a simple problem. Suppose I have a vector x, and I want to calculate y[i]=3Dx[i+1]-x[i], it is very easy. I just need to write y<-x[2:length(x)]-x[1:length(x)-1]. Now if I know y, and want to know the vector x defined by x[i]=3Dx[i-1]+y[i-1] for all i, how can I do this without a loop? Thanks, Geoffrey PS. Sorry if you see a duplicate message. The previous

It's been running flawlessly so no urgency to update, until the huge security hole was announced the other week. Well after the 'issues' with Compaq C, I decided to attempt compile using GCC-3.4.3... To put it short, that didn't fair well either. Will L G. A new bitorrent record?
One of our interns had to run down to the datacenter today and rescue an ailing 4.2 machine and the decision was made to just do a fresh install and restore a backup from last night. The only problem was that she had forgotten the 4.2 DVD in the office, a 2 hour drive back and forth. So I suggested she fire up her notebook which has a DVD burner and download the DVD via...
