'net rpc join -U Administrator' on Samba + LDAP PDC
I am having trouble joining a Samba + LDAP PDC. Here
are the steps I took and the results I have received.
General Information:
. Fedora Core 1 machine
. Samba 3.0.0
. Openldap 2.1.22-8
. Netbios Name: EAGLEX
. Domain name: AGUILAS
Symptoms:
Step 1:
[root@eaglex root]# net rpc join
-UAdministrator%xxxxxx
The username or password was not correct.
'/var/log/messages':

Samba+LDAP - so close yet so far :) ...STILL NOT SOLVED
Dear lists...
But this still un-solved the real problem to join w2k to samba3-ldap .
I'm here with the same situation.
I even switch my distro to SuSe with same result, still cant join domain.
Please give us hint how to solve or debug this problem.

Dear my samba friends & Craig (who has been helping me
with this issue so far), please help me with this one
:) I have a fedora core 1, samba 3.0.5, and openldap
2.1.*, and smbldap-tools 0.8.4.1
When I try to join the domain [AGUILAS] from my XP
(winxp), it is quiting half way through the process.
However, I don't completely understand why. I used
samba log level 3 to diagonose the problem. As you can
see below, the XP machine is authomatically entered in
the LDAP directory.
