best analysis method : for time series ans cross sectional data
...s. There are counties that do not
welcome this specialZone forced to design it.
One of the important aims is to find 1) time series effect using Dummy
variable, 2) cross-sectional effects using specialZones variable
below.
The data has items like year(1970-2000), floorSpace, county,
specialZones agianst permitting large buildings. specialZones have
been designed after 1990.
(Dummy = 1 after 1990, Dummy =0 before 1990)
I have tried three methods, such as
lm(floorSpace ~ county, specialZones, Dummy),
glm(floorSpace ~ county, specialZones, Dummy),
aov(floorSpace ~ county, specialZones, Dummy)....

syntax for push to remote rsync server
Hi,
I have set up two servers as rsync servers with ssh, they sync
agianst each other. I can pull data down from either remote node when logged
into one of them, using a module defined on both servers. However I don't
seem to be able to push from the localhost to the remote rsync server. I
think I'm using the incorrect syntax. If someone could highlight where I...

Scatterplot matrix one column vs. the rest of the dataset
have a data frame composed of many columns. I would like to hold one column
constant and scatter plot it agianst all of the other columns? how do I do
this? I have only been able to plot(x) and use indexes to create an entire
scatterplot matrix, but not hold one constant.

Possible samba options:
...T4 and two member
server (that offer only file sharing) with win2kserver ??
3. can i use the samba password for mgetty, nis, and if possible all
service but imap and pop that should always use unix password ?
4. is there some way from perl and php to validate an
[domain]/username/password pair agianst nt passwords returning not
only if the password is ok or not but also if the account is expired and or
locked and of course if does exist ?
Can you reply each question both for samba3.0 and samba-tng ??

plotting matrix
a <- c(1:26)
b <- rnorm(25)
e <- rnorm(25)
f <- rnorm(25)
g <- data.frame(b,e, a,f)
I would like to plot a agianst all possibilities and then shoot it out
to a pdf one graph per page. I think it would be okay to have this as
a lattice plot or a ggplot with many graphs per page. I can figure
all of that out I think, but I need something like
r <- as.matrix(g)
plot(.~a, data=r)
I think I am missing somethin...

Inconsistent results between multi_search and find_by_contents (is "other" a reserved word?)
I have a Computer type and I''m trying to query agianst it. When I do
the query with find_by_contents, I get correct results. However, when
I query using multi_search, I get incorrect results.
I''m using the most recent version of Acts As Ferret and Ferret
This returns the correct results:

correlation
What test do I use to determine if there is a correlation between a
discrete variable and a continuous variable?
For example - I have water quality ratings for streams (excellent,
good, fair, poor) and a corresponding nitrogen concentration for each
rating. I want to know if the the ratings correlate with the
concentration of nitrogen in the stream.
Help?

using spec.pgram
Hi everyone,
first of all, I would like to say that I am a newbie in R, so I apologize in
advance if my questions seem to be too easy for you.
Well, I'm looking for periodicity in histograms. I have histograms of
certain phenomenons and I'm asking whether a periodicity exists in these
data. So, I make a periodogram with the function spec.pgram. For instance,
if I have a histogram h, I

[PATCH] pciback: restore PCI BARs on D3->D0 transition
Ever since xen-unstable cset 14308 ("pci back: Fix registration of of
filters on subsections of config space") I''ve been getting an MCA on the
*2nd* boot of a driver domain using an e1000 NIC. Cset 14308 allowed
the proper setup of the PM control registers, so the NIC is put in the
D3 power state when the driver domain shuts down. Unfortunately,

...deleting the machine account from the domain, and
waiting for changes to propegate accross the domain then re-joinning. Also
tried giving the machine a different name, but suffers the same errors.
The error log for the server (while in domain mode), states that it is
unable to authenticate the user agianst the domain, then states that it is
'disabling' the account.
thanx in advance,
