Trouble with Windows 2000 sp3
Hello, I work in a development shop where we write code for both Linux and Windows, and develop on both OS's on a codebase stored on a Linux drive with Samba shares. Ever since I 'upgraded' my Windows 2000 system to service pack 3, I have been having trouble compiling my code with Visual Studio over this Samba connection. Basically what happens is that Visual Studio reports

SWAT vs. idealx
Has anyone else had problems with SWAT borking your smb.conf file if you specify your smb.conf scripts section like idealx suggests? For example: add machine script = /usr/local/sbin/smbldap-useradd -w "%u" When I save that from SWAT, I lose the script parameters inside quotes. This caused me some aggrivation this morning when I thought everything else worked just fine but the

rsync digest, Vol 1 #778 - 11 msgs
I haven't gotten it to work successfully, I'm still struggling with the same setgroups error that you are. However, I can tell you what I have tried. So far I have rsync configured to run in --daemon mode using the command: sudo rsync --daemon I can prompt it for a list of modules, but when I go to copy a module, I get the error @ERROR: setgroups failed. I can copy locally, from one HD to

rsync 2.5.5 and Mac OS X
Greetings, Has anyone successfully compiled rsync 2.5.5 under Mac OS X (not Server), and actually have it work fully? I'm in a position where I'm trying to setup an automated nightly remote backup between and Cobalt Raq4 (running a variant of Redhat Linux) and a Mac running OS X 10.1.5 with the latest development tools installed. As has been pointed out previously on the list, one has

OpenSSH Authentication on Solaris w/ NIS+ Problem
Hello, I am having a very aggrivating problem, and I will try and provide all of the necessary information. I have openssh-3.7.1p2 with openssl-0.9.6k installed on Solaris 8. Here is what I've been able to determine so far: 1. Local account authentication works fine (non-NIS+). 1a. NIS+ is running at security level 2 2. Telnet authentication works fine. 2a. When I use the SSH client,

VoicePulse Connect 4 Channel Limit?
Does anyone know what happens if you try to have 5 concurrent outgoing channels with VoicePulse Connect? Does it give you an error message or a reorder or something? I'm worried about using them as my primary carrier if this is the case. I noticed that they supposedly only allow 4 channels for free and then you have to pay $20 a month extra per channel. I'm guessing this is for inbound
