isolinux problem since 3.74
I'm working on getting the latest Linux distros working well on one of our prototype machines, however, some of them are failing to boot into the installer from the CD/DVD images. I've narrowed it down to isolinux hanging just before displaying the graphical menu. After a little bisecting between the last version that worked (3.73) and the first version which was broken (3.74), I found

Using Asterisk/callerid with "pay as you go" VOIP providers
...callerid but are there any companies that offer a means of qualifying callerid so it works right? Like it or not callerid is used heavily and without a proper return ID many callee's don't answer and if they tried to return the call they get no where. Seems like a big problem to me. Very aggrevating. Doug

[PATCH] Added option 'RetryDelay'
Being rather aggrevated when testing at the enforced 1 second delay between each connection attempt and the useless 1 second delay done after all connection attempts have failed I wrote a patch to make the number of seconds delayed between each connection attempt configurable. Trouble with Samba 2.2.2 under HPUX (high cpu utilization)
...looked into the source for references to that file and it appears that smbd always tries winbind first regardless of whether or not its compiled to support winbind or not. This appears in my case to be rather heavy on system call overhead, dealing with errors. I think perhaps something that is aggrevating this is the broken Visual Basic Application ont he other end is written to open a logfile and write a line then close it to cause a sync to happen which has got to cause alot of access checks which intern will try to resolve uids. Has anyone else run into problem with this? What should I do...

Point&print problem: printer names show the ip, not the server name.
Hello, i have this strange problem with printing and server naming after upgrading a server from RH9 (running Samba 3.0.3 ) to Fedora Core 1 (3.0.7-2.FC1). Everything was working before the upgrade, but i immediately started noticing some peculiarities after restoring the samba files (/etc/samba, /var/cache/samba) and starting samba. The problem manifests by the following: - when i double

Samba and LDAP backend - howto docs problems?
Hi all, I have followed the instructions at http://samba.mirror.ac.uk/samba/docs/man/passdb.html in an attempt to set up a Samba v3.0.2 (supplied by Redhat as part of RHEL v3.0) PDC. I have got as far as trying to get a windows 2k box to join this new domain that I have created, however this fails with the error "Logon failure: unknown user name or password". Samba itself logs
