Can't join my domain
Guys and dolls,
Greetings, I hope you all are in good health, great spirits and your glasses
never empty.
I have a samba, openldap question.
I am trying to setup a FC-4 box to be a PDC for a small network of about 150
users. I was following the HOWTO on the SAMBA site. Everything seems to be
fine however I cannot join the domain. I get the error "User name could not
be found." The

Unusable performance over WAN (part 2)
...bclient takes over 5 minutes.
SCPing the same file takes seconds.
The server is running samba version 3.0.25c with kernel 2.6.16.18.
I've put up a set of debugging logs at:
http://emagiccards.com/james/sambalogs.tar.bz2
Inside are 3 files:
smb.conf - the configuration of the samba server
log.agard - the level 10 debug log of the copy from samba
samba-tcpdump.log - a tcpdump log from the client side of the copy
Any help to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated since the file
server is pretty unusuable over the WAN.
If you need any more information, please let me know. It is imperative...

Solaris 9 winbind/getent group issues
...ning.
Attempts to chgrp files to anything other than MYDOMAIN+Domain Admins
results in a long, long hang (I left it for 15 minutes before giving
up). chgrp to MYDOMAIN+Domain Admins does work, however.
I must humbly ask for your assistance here- I VERY MUCH need this to
work.
Thank you,

Samba: 32 or 64 bit
All
Due to an application issue I need to let app support know whether the
version of Samba we are running is 32 or 64 bit. We are running Samba
2.2.8 on Solaris 8 (64 bit mode). Aplogies if this is really obvious but I
have looked many places with no luck.
It was installed from a file containing Solaris packages -
samba-2.2.8-sol8-sparc-local.gz

Unable to add computer to domain
I have an OpenLDAP backend, Samba knows how to talk to it, my Samba users
are stored in LDAP and file shares work fine authenticating to the LDAP
server.
I tried executing smbldap-useradd -w server02 on the command-line and got
the following error:
failed to perform search; Can't contact LDAP server at
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.7/smbldap_tools.pm line 362, <DATA> line 283.
