sqlFetch and factor conversion
R users, Hello, I used sqlFetch to import a data table from MS Access 2007 and I set as.is = TRUE to prevent character vectors from becoming factors. However, I can't figure out how to prevent the $ operator from being added by sqlFetch to the end of each character vector(e.g. TD$ and SITE$). This causes subsequent parts of my code not to work and also results in some behavior that I

Delay after entering digits with IVR
I have a [start] context that all my inbound and '0' calls are routed into. Because of the way I want to set my system up, I want to prompt the user to enter a 1 if they know the extension, or a 2 for a directory and nothing else. It works, however there is a 5 to 10 second delay after enter the 1 or 2 before the system responds. I have read over the wiki on how asterisk handles digit

All VMs permanently 'paused'
I set up Alpine Linux as a libvirt-based KVM hypervisor last week. Everything was working beautifully on Friday. I left two Windows VMs up and running and two 'Saved' on Friday afternoon. When I go in this morning the two running ones were 'Paused' and I can't unpause them with virt-manager or with virsh. The other two saved ones I can start, but they are immediately paused

Poll: Which distro do you use for Rails/Ruby development?
Good afternoon, I''ve two quick questions for the Ruby/Rails community. 1) Do you use Linux for Ruby or Rails development? 2) If you use Linux, which distro do you normally use to develop? Thank you for your input. :-) -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

How to make the playlist repeat
Good afternoon, I have two playlists going, on separate mount points, and they both exhibit this behavior. It appears that ices is shutting down when it reaches the end of the playlist. I'm getting these same four lines at the end of the logs of both playlists: [2019-12-08  00:00:53] INFO playlist-builtin/write_ogg_data module shutdown requested [2019-12-08  00:00:53] INFO input/input_loop

[LLVMdev] Cambridge University LLVM Afternoon
If you're not in or near Cambridge, please feel free to stop reading at this point... As I mentioned at the social last week, we're having an LLVM Afternoon at the Computer Lab this month. This will be on Monday 15th, from 1pm to 5pm (and probably be followed by a visit to a public house of good repute). We'll have talks from the various people in the department doing things with

Firefox 45.1.0 stability
Good afternoon, Apologies if this topic has come up before but I've found that the Firefox 45.1.0 stability to be somewhat lacking. For example, I can't use it for Twitter because it crashes. It also crashes when I log into gmail. This happens every time I try these URL's. Any suggestions on improving the stability? Thanks! Jeff

Leroy and I strolled out in the dimming afternoon light for a breath of air and to check out the progress of the colors in preparation for the Museum's annual Fall Colors Stroll.
I happened to be in a Latin American prison, accused of running guns to the freedom fighters. All right, the Capitol Hill officers let down the old side this time. But just try to take a snapshot of a blimp and see what happens to you. uuuu WATCH LITL ON WEDNESDAY DEC 13! Load balancing Icecast - aggregated logs
Good afternoon Philipp Many thanks for your reply. Sorry for not being clear. I think the problem I have would be in the implementation. How do I run two versions of Icecast on two servers, with load balancing between the two (perhaps using RR-DNS), but I present my client with one unified log file for the audience statistics? Should the two servers write their logs via a network file share to

Hello, Samba 4.4.7 AD member on Linux SLES 12 here ... We've been running flawlessly for weeks with version 4.4.5 until we updated to 4.4.6 and experienced this bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12369 So we updated to 4.4.7 in which this issue was fixed with an interim downgrade to version 4.4.5 until 4.4.7 was available. To Do list project?
I''m looking for a good web-based to do list app. Essentially, I''d like to use Basecamp''s todo management system, but that''s not an option since I can''t install Basecamp on a server I own. The information being tracked in the list cannot be sent out of my intranet. I would imagine that there are a couple of open source rails apps that would meet my

Search and extract string function
Hi all, I'm trying to write a function that will search and extract from a long character string, but with a twist: I want to use the characters before and the characters after what I want to extract as reference points. For example, say I'm working with data entries that looks like this: Drink=Coffee:Location=Office:Time=Morning:Market=Flat
