Multiple after_deploys in deploy.rb
Hi,
I am using Capistrano to do a deploy to servers with different roles.
I want call after_deploy in the following manner.
task :after_deploy, :roles => [:rolea] do
run "task a"
end
task :after_deploy, :roles => [:roleb] do
run "task b"
end
The problem seems that the second after_deploy clobbers the first even

Symlinks in Capistrano?
I have a few projects with large directories (say, user-uploaded files) that
make using Capistrano a bit awkward. However, I suspect that I may have
reached the "write a custom task" level.
(I suppose I''m just thinking out loud, here...)
It seems as though I''d want this directories symlinked in /shared... Maybe
there''s a way to extend the

SwitchTower 1.0.1, SwitchTower Extensions
SwitchTower is a utility that can execute commands in parallel on
multiple servers. It allows you to define tasks, which can include
commands that are executed on the servers. You can also define roles
for your servers, and then specify that certain tasks apply only to
certain roles.

Starting backgroundrb from rails and restarting with rails
Hi,
I have my rails sites tricked out with capistrano, and backgroundrb, so
I can easily use the ant tasks, but I would like to be able to start and
stop backgroundrb from within rails.
I have a few reasons for this:
1. Using fastcgi, backgroundrb would start under the apache user and the
same mod_security context as apache, instead of my developer account
which has many more privileges.

Any capistrano email recipes?
I''d like to set up capistrano to send an email whenever we do a
deployment. Just start an SMTP session with localhost and shoot off
the email. I have all the code to do that actually, I just don''t know
how to run some Ruby code on the deployment server. Anyone know how
to do that, or do you have an email recipe?

Tunneling in capistrano twice
Hi there,
The default recipe expects you to be able to access your web server
directly from your local machine.
On our web server, for security purposes, it is only possible to ssh
to it through one particular ip (which is also a remote machine.)
The capistrano source is so compact and tidy it looks very hackable.
But rather than messing around I thought I''d ask first if anyone else
