tcltk problems
...include the > "with-tcltk" and it worked fine.? Did you try that, please? In the past I have configured without using the "--with-tcltk" flag, and R of course built just fine. But it *did not* have tcltk capability. When I wanted that capability I had to start using the aforesaid flag. It makes absolutely no sense that one would get tcltk capability when configuring without the flag but *not* get it when configuring *with* the flag. If that is indeed the case then this definitely constitutes a bug in the "configure" system. I cannot believe that it would wor...

integrate over polygon
Hi there, I want to integrate a function over an irregular polygon. Is there any function which can implement this easily? Otherwise, I am thinking of divide the polygon into very small rectangles and use "adapt" to approximate it. Do you have any suggestions to get the fine division? Any advice is appreciated. Haiyong

Linear modelling confusion.
...issue. But can any kind soul please tell me how I might *properly* fit the model in R? What package and function should I use, and what (very explicitly, in monosyllables, for I am a bear of very little brain and long words bother me) is the correct syntax for expressing the models for the aforesaid function? Yes, I have looked at lme4 and lmer(), and I have (tried to) read Pinheiro and Bates, but I couldn't get it. As I said, I am a bear of very little brain .... Thanks for taking the time to read this long-winded cri de coeur. If anyone is actually *interested* I would be very ha...

My main network has a DSL modem (on 192.168.1.0/30, implementing NAT) connecting to the aforesaid Gateway connected (on 192.168.0.0/24) to a Switch and the rest of the boxen: pretty standard. tcltk problems
It recently came to my attention that my R installation no longer has tcltk capability. I can't figure out why or what to do about it. I built R from source. I configured using the "--with-tcltk" flag. The build and install *seemed* to go OK, but after realising I didn't have tcltk capability I looked into config.log. There I found: > configure:39486: checking for

help with interpreting what nnet() output gives:
....co.nz> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed The simplest way is: xxx <- with(clyde, tapply(CONTTIME,SCRNO,sum)) You could also do: xxx <- by(clyde, clyde[["SCRNO"]],function(x){sum(x[["CONTTIME"]])}) but this gives somewhat messy output; the aforesaid output may be convenient for some purposes, not for others. cheers, Rolf Turner On 30/06/11 09:38, Edgar Alminar wrote: > Hello, > I have the following dataset (this is a piece of a much larger set): > > RID SCRNO VISCODE RECNO CONTTIME > 23 18 HBA01900...
