CentOS on IBM Bladecenter HS21
Hello, I have CentOS 5.2 installed on two of the afore-mentioned blades. I've noticed that the OS started to crash lately (kernel panic) and I've been assigned the task to troubleshoot this issue. I would like to know what is the best way of recovering the kernel dump after the OS crashes. I know there are two software implementations that would enable me to do this, kexec and

Interface bonding?
I'm try to bond a few interfaces together with the hopes of getting increased throughput, and I'm using a cisco Catalyst 2900 as the switch. I've tried using mode 0, 5, and 6 with nothing special on the switch, and mode 4 with some ports "trunked" together (I have a feeling that the "trunking" that the 2900 does is not 802.3ad, as it disabled the ports it saw as

Dovecor 1.2 : Command output: Fatal: Unknown argument: flags=DRhu Usage: deliver [-c <config file>] [-a <address>] [-d <username>] [-p <path>] [-f <envelope sender>] [-m <mailbox>] [-n] [-s] [-e] [-k] )
Hi there, I changed postfix to pass email to spamassassin, and then deliver to dovecot LDA. It fails to deliver. The current entry in master.cf now reads: dovecot unix - n n - - pipe flags=DRhu user=vmail:vmail argv=/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -d ${recipient} smtp inet n - - - - smtpd -o content_filter=spamassassin

smb.conf
I added a hosts deny line to above and denied one specific ip address. I then deleted that line but added hosts allow and made this equal to any ip address within previous "denied ip address's subnet. However, the afore-mentioned ip was still denied and I had to allow it individually. Can anyone tell me why. Thanks Bernadette McCluskey Ops/Comms Administrator GMB National

Login denied after joinined Samba PDC - Fixed?
Okay, not sure why this seems to be the cause of the problem, but, for the record, whenever I have the following lines under my [global] section in smb.conf, I am unable to log into the domain with the afore mentioned error. As soon as I comment out these two lines and restart samba everything seems to work just fine (so far...) valid users = root @ntadm write list = root @ntadm I'm not

Paasing values to sqlQuery like SAS macro
Hello, We lost our SAS licence & I am busy transfering my old SAS programs to R environment. I am very new to R. In 1 program I was creating SAS macro vars & passing them into a SQL query to run against the server. There are 3 variables firm, begindt, enddt. # of values for each varies month to month. Is there anyway I could do the same thing in R & pass the afore mentioned values

Basically, it gives the target more information about the spill. In particular, it specifies the register class to use for the copy. The target can choose to ignore this if it

Broken Umlauts (ÄÖÜäöüß) since Update on Rails 1.2.1
Dear group-members, I´m a little frustrated, since I have updated on Rails 1.2.1: My application uses some tables from a MySQL database encoded in UTF-8. With Rails 1.1.8, I had no problems with displaying German Umlauts (ÄÖÜäöüß) in views and forms, all went well without the need to worry about charsets and encoding. Since yesterday, my browsers (Safari, Firefox) only display little question

Samba and .NET FileSystemWatcher
Hi All, I've been looking into a problem using the .NET FileSystemWatcher class in a VB application. The application is only receiving notifications for events in the root of the directory it is watching. E.g. When monitoring \\SambaServer\Files <file:///\\SambaServer\Files> \\SambaServer\Files\file.txt <file:///\\SambaServer\Files\file.txt> will give notifications but not

Suse 9.1 Samba
I have been trying for two weeks to get onto a Win2k domain which has active directory with no success. The Suse YAST samba client will not do ADS, only domain, server, or user, so I went to the command line stuff I found the the Samba documentation. I can do kinit and get back the following: sha-linux:/etc/samba # kinit art_fore@3MTS.COM art_fore@3MTS.COM's Password: kinit: NOTICE:

Trouble getting Ices/Icecast2 to stream
Mike / Karl - I've tried two different ways of setting up the "stream". In one URL, I named the file directly (http://foo.bar.org:8001/stream.ogg), and in the second, I made a stream.m3u file containing the afore mentioned http statement. Neither worked in Winamp. I had downloaded version 3 of WinAmp, so I uninstalled that, and went out and got the JOrbis (Java) player and the

New minimal SMB2 client library !
Ronnie Sahlberg, Samba Team member - has written a new small-footprint SMB2/3 client library. Compiled size is 120KB (yes, that is *KB*, not MB :-). It supports signing, sealing, NTLM authentication (and krb5 with external libraries). It has *no* dependencies (other than the afore-mentioned krb5 if you need it) and is available for checkout and hacking at: git clone

imap-login ESTABLISHED client sessions not timed out by server
Good morning everyone, I noticed some mobile client connections that I know should have timed out at least 20 mins ago, yet these are still there. The device in question lost its 3G connection and never re-established it. I know, because in this case it was my 'phone ;) Why should the imap-login keep the copnnection in in EST, when it was dropped ages ago. I imagine that the mobile
