Hello,
We are currently running SAMBA 2.07 on our AIX 4.3.3 UNIX systems. We just
received the following:
OpenPKG Security Advisory OpenPKG-SA-2003.028: samba - remote root exploit
Does this affect SAMBA 2.07? This is all that I see affected:

It affects RHEL6 which runs 2.6.32, they backported the features that it
affects. If the above openvz kernel was based on a RHEL6 kernel (and
I'd guess it was) then it's affected.

I am using Xen 3.1.0 in centos 5.4
I have one VM consuming 100% cpu and all other VM (linux) become very slow (no ssh and vnc access).
I could access host via ssh but not VM. host cpu is about 95% idle using dstat.
Pls advise how to avoid this.

Hi,
since Icecast <=1.3.12 has been affected by a cross-site scripting
vulnerability in the status display (s.
<http://securitytracker.com/alerts/2004/Aug/1011046.html> and
<http://www.debian.org/security/2004/dsa-541>) it appears to be unclear
so far if Icecast 2.x is vulnerable too. Can anyone of you maybe confirm
it is affected...

Xen 4.0.x 3,000 second time skew problem
...Olivier, did it fix things for you?
These are Debian squeeze installs so using packaged versions of xen
and kernel:
ii linux-image-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 2.6.32-45 Linux 2.6.32 for 64-bit PCs, Xen dom0 support
ii xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 4.0.1-4 The Xen Hypervisor on AMD64
One of the hosts affected is:
CPU: Xeon 5410
Motherboard: Supermicro X7DCL-i
The other is:
CPU: Xeon E5606
Motherboard: SUpermicro X8DTN+
but I do have other servers with same hardware as both of these that
aren''t affected.
Cheers,
Andy

Just to be clear, I am not criticizing, but actually asking...
Are those white-space characters impacting the binaries being built?
Would they affect common users?
Are those characters affecting developers? For instance, do they affect
some git command? Or, do they make

My understanding is: RHEL is obsolete, hence it will not even be mentioned
on that page, whether it is known to be affected or not.

Regarding CVE-2015-1781 vulnerability in Glibc
Thanks for the reply.
Where can we get the info regarding whether its fixed in CentOS 5 or not?
I did rpm -q --changelog <glibc> | grep <CVE>
but I dont find any info on this.
This might means 3 things.
1. The version is not affected so no fix
2. The version is affected, still no fix
3. Fix applied, but not shown in o/p
Thanks

Domain vCPU threads affinity
Hello,
According to the docs, vcpupin will use either cgroups or sched_setaffinity
to pin vcpu threads to cpus. How is this decision made?
I observe differences even on different hosts featuring the same version of
libvirtd (1.3.1): on one host vcpupin affects cpuset.cpus (cgroup), and on
the other it affects vcpu threads affinity (observed through taskset).
Thanks,
Nikos
