Bootable 2.88MB floppy image
I would like to be able to create a 2.88MB bootable floppy image to hold the kernel and initrd -- will be used for automated install. In various newsgroups there have been many posting attempting to describe how to achieve this, but none of them is complete. Can syslinux be used to achieve this? What about memdisk? Thank you in advance. Fet

Query with special characters crashes under Windows XP
Hi, Index queries with special characters (e.g. German Umlauts but also other European ones) make the Ruby process run for quite a long time and crash finally. I''m using Rails on Windows XP with Ferret 0.11.4_mswin_32. I could isolate the problem in the following simple controller action (so there''s no web browser form field involved): def test index = Ferret::I.new index

That's not how this worked in the past AFAIR. Simply, the packages in the x.y.z/Recommended directories were included in src/contrib/PACKAGES*, metadata, with the correct R version dependencies, in the correct order, so that `install.packages()` automatically installed the correct version without having to add extra repositories or manually s...

...User Mode, x64 driver. This operation is not supported." after files have been copied to the print$ share into x64/{...} or W32X86/{...} directories. I can't find anything enlightening in the samba log files (low log level shows nothing helpful, high log level shows to much) and eventvwr (AFAIR Event ID 215 which brings nothing helpful). I have set os_major/minor to 6/0. I don't believe, that rights are missing. Any ideas? Thanks Matthias

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] RFC: Upcoming Build System Changes
...is no parallel loss due to recursive calls. The cmake build will happily compile files from different libraries/executables as long as there are enough threads available and no blocking dependencies. To check, simply run `make -j' and you'll see how dozens of compiler processes are started. AFAIR the same applies to the `make' build. >> Furthermore, recursive make is necessary for automatic generation of >> header dependencies, among other things. [LLVMdev] Mingw, cross-compiling,___eprintf
Hello, Oscar > oscar at qcore:~/dev/llvm/mingw-x$ i586-mingw32msvc-g++ --version > i586-mingw32msvc-g++ (GCC) 4.2.1-sjlj (mingw32-2) Have you tried to build llvm natively with exact same compiler version? AFAIR, someone reported, that either this was not possible or there was a miscompilation. PS: Everything is with crosscompilation via gcc 3.4.6 & ld 2.18 -- With best regards, Anton Korobeynikov Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, Saint Petersburg State University

SAMBA 4.20 - function level upgrade
Tom??, Andrew, I just became aware of this thread and noticed that there's likely a problem in our SAMBA+ packages. Sorry that this has caused you such a hard time! Afair we have one or two minor modifications that ought to improve compatibility with Exchange schema extensions, but I don't remember the details. Once we've figured out what's wrong, we'll let you know. Due to SambaXP next week we're currently quite busy, so this will probably h...
