"ö" causes find_by_contents not to return
I''ve installed ferret 0.10.9 together with the latest acts_as_ferret using Windows XP and indexed a location database (geonames.org) with Location.rebuild_index. The data is in utf-8. Now calling Location.find_by_contents "?" does not return a result, causes a lot of CPU load, and finally exits with an error "index.rb:702: in ''parse'': failed to allocate

VNC access console of paravirtualised DomU
...ying this a while ago with Centos 5.1 as the Dom0, I was using virtual machine manager which seemed to give me a colourful representation of the console/, which I assume now was over VNC. I haven''t got that setup anymore to reference, alas and virtual-machine-manager seems broken on Hardy, afa I can tell. So, am I missing something or is it supposed to work the way I described? If so, what should I have in my config files/sxp to make it work? Thanks in advance and be gentle with me because I am a noob Xen user! Profiles on quota, hard or soft limit?
...i think strange happens. The client say to the user that cannot update the profile, also if it was under the soft (and hard) quota limit. I've googled a bit, and found that this is expected, and also i've found the suggestion to put (via policy) a roaming profile size of an half of quota. AFA i've understood well, copying roaming profiles windows machine dupes many file, so the effectively space used during profile syncronization increase. 50% seems to me too much, but... Anyway the problem are other: trinity:~# repquota -a | grep roberta roberta -- 545400 1048576 2097152...

I only pasted a subset of my upsmon.conf. NOTIFYCMD is in my upsmon.conf AFA nutmon user. I was trying different things I had the directory as nutmon nut but changed it to nutmon nutmon to see if that worked. It didn't make a difference. Sorry about the digest this. I needed to hit a line in gmail web client to see the subject line. Know I know. Thanks for the heads up...

DNS forwarding vs recursion
I have 2 CentOS servers that are both authoritative DNS for several domains and local resolvers. As configured, they are publicly visible resolvers, which I've known for awhile is not a good thing. whats the appropriate way of configuring the bind on CentOS 5.current to not allow recursion on queries from the public side, but still allow recursion locally? is it as simple as adding

On a side note, try recently released health report tool, and see if it does diagnose any issues in setup. Currently you may have to run it in all the three machines. Win2K unable to see shares
I have been unable to get my Samba shares on RedHat 7.3, Samba 2.2.3a to be visible from my Windows 2000 SP1 server. From the DIAGNOSIS.txt tests (results below) I think that nmbd is not working properly, but it stops and starts fine, and a ps -A shows 1 X smbd and 2X(?)nmbd processes running, I have tried the suggestions there without luck and am not sure where to go next. I'd appreciate
