deleted share still seen
...6.4 box and accessed it from a Win2000 machine. Than I deleted this share entirely, and expected that I wouldn't be able to see it anymore from the win2000 box (after refreshing the view in windows explorer) but the opposite happened.
What could be the explanation and the solution for this?

Conditional SASL authentication
...machines, I need to be able to block the outgoing mail wich is
handled by postfix via dovecot SASL.
Blocking it at dovecot level would be optimal, for the virus doesn't
necessarily use the e-mail of the user as its from, just the user and
password for the authentication phase.
Is it feasible?

Help: Cannot browse the shares on Samba server
....conf:
[global]
workgroup=HAMPTONSYS
security=user
guest account=nobody
log level=3
[hsgtest]
path=/tmp
writable=yes
public=yes
I'm running with a shadowed /etc/passwd, but that shouldn't make a
difference with PAM, should it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated! advTHANKSance

installing samba
...est.tar.gz
Managed to unzip it with gunzip but cannot figure out how to install it. Tried rpm but didn't work.
I have an earlier version of Samba (2.0.6) on my SuSE 6.4 machine already.
Can I just install the new version or do I need to do some sort of uninstall of the previous version first.

One machine, two net feeds, outbound route selection
...2.6.18-4.el5
- Both feeds connect to the gateway with plain old IP-over-Ethernet
- Static IP addresses for both feeds
- LAN is NAT''ed and using a 10/8 private subnet
- Successfully using multiple routing tables, iptables, and/or
interface-bindings to select route/feed for most services
