How to beat Google aka Xapian & Natural Language Processing.
...n placing infrastructure for Xapian. So far we have the following OP_AND, OP_AND_MAYBE, OP_AND_NOT, OP_ELITE_SET, OP_FILTER, OP_NEAR, OP_OR, OP_PHRASE, OP_VALUE_RANGE, OP_XOR search operators and we could add one more OP_NLP. What we can do now is to implement OP_NLP to tagged nouns, adjectives, adverbs, punctuations, foreign words etc. Calculate relation between them and assign boost value to the most occurred terms in query for example noun. Search query example: What is Kevin Duraj doing? OP_NLP would analyze sentence as follow: [what = pronoun, question|is = werb|kevin=noun|duraj=noun|doing...

Sudo(ers) distrobution system/script
Just wondering if anyone out there is using sudo across a bunch of machines and has a system/script for painlessly distributing a master sudoers file? is it as easy as a daily cronjob running wget/scp/rsync?

Query super- and subclasses of a class: is there a better way than to use 'completeClassDefinition()'
Dear List, when I first started to use S4 classes, I used the function 'completeClassDef()' in order to see the super- and subclasses of a certain class: setClass(Class="A", representation=list(a="numeric")) setClass(Class="B", contains="A", representation=list(b="character")) # Super x <- completeClassDefinition("B")

Question about many-to-one merge
I have spent a whole afternoon searching for the solution, but got nothing so far. It should be a simple problem. I have two datasets to merge. The first one just contains two ID columns and it looks like: FromID ToID 1 2 1 3 2 1 2 3 3 1 3 2 The second one contains a ID column and a variable: ID X 1 100 2 150 3

underscores, sugar, and more and more bugs
I sent this earlier under with the subject "artificial sugar causes cancer" and I think some spam filters ate it. Here it is again: ====================================== All, If you look at http://rubyforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=6760&group_id=797&atid=3149 you''ll see that Chad (the submitter) found the source of the bug. Unfortunately, the source

Qs about FXO/FXS cards
Hello. I am going to be putting together my first * system using FXO/FXS interfaces. All the systems I have set up thus far have been pure VoIP setups. The system I need to set up should have 3 FXO interfaces and 1 FXS interface, as well as several SIP phones. I have noticed people complaining about Digium's TDM cards - are these isolated incidents or are these cards unreliable? I intend to
