Reverse zones fail with secure updates
Hello, I'm using Samba 4.5.1 as a ADDC and the internal DNS. If I use 'allow dns updates = secure' in my smb.conf. Only A records update. The applicable reverse zone fails to update. If I switch to using non secure updates both the A and the PTR records are updated. Is someone else able to confirm this behavior? Thanks. -- - James

Reverse zones fail with secure updates
Hai James, What is the connection's DNS suffix of the pc? And did you setup TLS in you samba? Look here, in the advanded tcp settings of the pc. ( or ipconfig /all ) And is it ticked "Use this connections dns suffix in dns registration" (In dhcp option 81.) Or use Group policy editors. - Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\DNS Client -Connection Specific DNS Suffix: enabled, and se...

Cannot write on share
Hi Maybe it is a FAQ, but i've got some problem with mi samba installation: i edited the smb.conf file to create some shares, one for each partition of the disk of the linux box (all of these are mounted at boot in /c, /d, etc.) plus two shares for my cdroms and one for the zip drive (/cdron /cdscsi /zip); each of these directories has permissions set to rwxrwxrwx and i enabled guest account

smbmount limitations
...TB. However, the amount of disk space that is displayed from the "df -k" command for the mounted share is only 2 TB, and when I try to access the share, my terminal session hangs. Is there a limitation on the size of the share that can be mounted? Thanks, Daryl Ashley Institute for Advanded Technology

[samba4] smbd processes never die after logoff
Hello, I'm using Samba 4.0.5 in Debian Wheezy as a member server of a DC (in Debian Wheezy too with Samba 4.0.5) and the clients are Windows7 Pro. The users use shares in the member server. Sometimes, after the logoff of the users in the Win7 clients, there are connections with the member server whiches never stop. I can see it with the "smbstatus" command which point PID out to me

R GUI considerations (was: R, Wine, and multi-threadedness)
...largely debugged. However, there are still problems to make a 100% Tcl console for R (look at Peter Dalgaard's attempt in the package, not complete, not 100% operational, currently). Another problem: the Tk widgets are a little bit old-fashion, and I miss a lot of features provided by more advanded graphical widgets like wxWidgets, for instance. However, it seems to be the best bet, currently. So, I explore various kinds of additions that could make Tcl + Tk a better and more modern GUI implementation. Look at http://www.sciviews.org/SciViews-R... the "tcltk2" package. In that p...

CDR Web Search Frontend
*This message was transferred with a trial version of CommuniGate(tm) Pro* Hey all, I've just done a quick (but functional) web front end for searching the CDRs in a MySQL database. Anyone interested in trying it out? I'm wondering what to add to it next. So far you can seach using source, destination, CLI, channel and date ranges. It also displays ALL fields in the database table.
