Routing changes break NAT (not a shorewall question)
Hi folks,
I know this isn''t a shorewall question, but i''m hoping someone can
point me to the right place to look for answers on this (since, as Tom
suggests, search engines are useless for some things):
Here is my firewall setup:
ADSL1 ADSL2 dialup

DMZ
It''s a fairly simple setup. ADSL1 has a static IP, ADSL2 is dynamic.
There is DNAT across both ADSL links to a single host in the DMZ.
The dialup IPs (a /29 subnet) are routed into the DMZ.
ADSL1 is my normal default route,...

ip rule, fwmark, mangle and src IP
I made a script to test if in a moultiple gateway setup all default
connection are up, regardless of the fact that that gateway is the default
gw.
Suppose adsl1 and adsl2 are present, and all traffic goes by default to
adsl1, and you want to test if adsl2 is ok.
1. I use mangles from iptables to mark icmp packets to some test machines
2. I set up a routing table for each adsl
3. I use ''ip rule'' to route marked packets to the gw I am testi...

problems with some incoming/outgoing calls
...problem that I can't get rid of,
actually 2 problems. Before I go into the problems, let me tell you
about the setup. It's a pretty small setup with only 4 handsets, all
Polycom 320s, the server is a Dell SC440 with Intel E2180 CPU (dual
core, 2GHz) and 512MB Ram. Internet Connection is an ADSL2, with a not
so reliable ISP in australia. For incoming calls, I had a Digium
TDM410P with 4xFXO modules and HWEC. Because of these problems, i
replaced the Digium card with a Sangoma A200D, but it didn't make any
difference to the problems. All phones are hooked up to a Netgear PoE
switch.

Load Balancing with secondary tables (not main as in the howto)
...dd load balancing over a secondary table in any
other way? Why ip route add doesn''t allow this?
Thanks in advance.
