ads_kinit_password failed: Preauthentication failed
Hi,
I am have compiled samba 3.0.23b (MIT Kerberos 1.5.1) on Solaris 10.
I am unable to join the ads domain.
net ads testjoin returns the following output...

net ads join without kerberos

Now I have removed all samba and kerberos software from the machine to reset
configuration.
Then I have executed "net ads testjoin" to see what happened (I have already
joined the machine to the domain).
It returned the following messages:

[Solaris 9][ads] net ads testjoin error
...and all was good.
Next step, was to join the host to the production domain...
I changed all mention of DEVDOMAIN to DOMAIN in smb.conf.
However, when I run "net ads testjoin", I'm getting the following
error...

Kerberos problem with net ads join under AIX
Hello!
If i try a net ads join i get a kerberos error , but my kerberos works
fine, i can do a kinit,klist and so on.
the error i get is the following.

net ads join fails
I am trying to connect to an ADS domain and it is failing all the time.
I am running SuSE Linux 9.0 with Samba 3.0.13 and have configured Samba with ldap and heimdal kerberos
Attached is my debug level 10 error log created when the join is attempted.
I would appreciate any advice on solving this problem.

I'm trying to set up winbind and all of the wbinfo commands are failing.
I was able to join the domain with this command...
root@tux samba# net join -S typhoon -U Administrator

Help in "joining" Linux on AD domain.
...e installed samba and krb5-workstation and
SWAT. I configured samba, but I would like to check it with some of you!
In fact, I get following errors when trying to join:

O.K. well no one has responded to any requests for help yet. Maybe
I'll get lucky this time.
Switched to the Red Hat web server. Configured 3.0.3 --with-ads. Do
net ads testjoin, system response:

Hello,
I met a problem when I trying to join a linux client to a Windows 2003
server. This Windows 2003 server is ADS and PDS, plus DNS. The client is
Linux RedHat 7.3, installed Samba 3.0.4.
I tried to use
# net ads join -UAdministrator%abcedef
it give me error of
"libads/kerberos.c:ads_kinit_password(135)
kerberos_kinit_password Administrator@QA4.NEOPATHNETWORKS.COM failed:
Cannot find KDC for requested realm"
I tried to run
# kinit
and also get error of
"kinit(v5): Cannot resolve network address for KDC in requested realm
while getting initial credentials"

I am having trouble joining an AD Domain with samba3.0.10:
All checks mentioned in the Samba-Guides (regarding LDAP & Kerberos) passed,
but when I use

I can't join to domain
...I install and config the samba.
but I can't access the share folder on the server with win2000 client.
I guess the server need to be a domain member server. right?
