KDE-Print almost working, directory shares working good.

sure lp0 is selected, the job does seem to go to littlegeek, as in the
Print Manager section of Konqueror (see link below), the print job shows
up ok, with any subsequent jobs queued.
But that's it.
Nothing else happens.
I am a bit embarrassed about this as using SWAT is supposed to make
adminstering Samba a breeze, but I'm still unfortunately stuck.
I can't work out why the jobs are being sent to the samba server on
littlegeek, but nothing is being done with them.
If it helps, here are a couple of screenshots of what is happening :

CentOS 6 Virt SIG Xen 4.6 packages available in centos-virt-xen-testing
?My .02 is to stay the course. ?As a server admin, I want to be able to type things like:

Having to remember all the idiosyncrasies of a system is what causes some type of major failure in the future whenever (1) you forget something or (2) someone else has to pick up the box to adminster.

mp3-wav-cd-audio "acoustically equivalent" to wav-cd-audio ?
A friend of mine made the following comment in a discussion I had with
him that on a website we adminster we should offer
a) WAV or maybe shorten files
b) Ogg as a decent reference lossy encoded version
He's been trying to convince me that we should offer MP3 (in lieu of
WAV) and possibly Ogg.
The audio files are primarily vocals

Samba related Student Project
Hi all
I am doing a final year project which is to develop a web-based
application that allows accessing a samba PDC through a browser. The
application is to allow an administrator to modify computer and user
accounts in smbpasswd file and allow access to smb.conf. I am seeking
help from you if you know an application like that already exist so that I
can benefit from it. Note that I use

Migrating a smbpasswd domain controller to LDAP
Hi folks,
I have a small network running Samba 3.0.2 / Mandrake - everything is
working fine with all winXP and 98 stations happy :)
As a lot of users depends on this server, I want to install a BDC server in
order to have a backup server.
The SAMBA3-HowTo suggests that the best way is to install a LDAP
authentication but my current authentication is smbpasswd.
As I can't do those changes

CentOS 6 Virt SIG Xen 4.6 packages available in centos-virt-xen-testing
Well when the last upgrade 4.2 > 4.4 went live and XM was disabled by
default it took many hosts down without warning. 4.4 > 4.6 may cause the
same issues. It's a dangerous upgrade for sure. Why can't 4.4 be LTS for
C6? as it's the last build with XM. Any XSA patches should not be hard to
backport. and maybe the optional xen4.6 for C6.

puppet administration guidance
Other than learning on to build a puppet repo, what other
skills/tutorials/docs can you point me to do learn how to admin a puppet
setup.
What sort of day to day issues to you guys run into, and what are they
command line tools that I should learn?
/var/log/syslog seems to be the place to look for any issues for things like
agent''s not being able to connect or problems with the catalog.

CentOS 6 Virt SIG Xen 4.6 packages available in centos-virt-xen-testing
Its my impression that as a general rule from RH once some software has
been released into a major release any further release of that software
does not change major version or fundamental features..
For C6 I would argue Xen 4.2 should stay packaged as xen and Xen 4.4 be
packaged as xen44 ...
I do not believe that Xen has been released for C7 yet so what ever
package version is released

CentOS 6 Virt SIG Xen 4.6 packages available in centos-virt-xen-testing
This is a community SIG .. and xenproject.org does NOT release XSAs for
4.2. The goal of Xen4centOS was to use an upstream LTS kernel and
update those as required to stay on an LTS. Also to do every second
point release of xen (ie, 4.2, 4.4, 4.6). All so we are longer term
than upstream, BUT we have supported code from upstream.
So, the goal is to use supported code for the longest amount of

My comment was targeted more at naming than support.
I appreciate that there are vanishingly few resources to throw at support.
I am glad to see any xen support for C7 and am thankful of all those who
are putting in time to make things happen.
I try to help out when I can but it is all too infrequently.

Domain Logons
Hello,
I am new to Samba. I run FreeBSD 2.2.5-stable and Version 1.9.17p4.
I would like my FreeBSD server to act as a DOMAIN Logon. And, for example
if user riso logges in (using his FreeBSD box password) his /home/riso
should be
automatically maped to G: or something.
The error message I get is:
"You have entered an incorrect password, or access to your logon server has
been denied."

Question on LDAP+Samba+PDC
Hello everyone.
Well, I have been working very hard lately, trying to get a server up to
act as our Samba PDC with LDAP. So far, everything seems to be working
well. I've been able to get samba 2.2.8 and openldap 2.0.27 installed with
no problems. I've setup my config files (ldap.conf, slapd.conf, smb.conf)
as well as added some initial entries to the LDAP directory.
I've been
