2.2.8pre1 smbclient log in problem
Hi all samba coders. Glad to see that you work to improve samba. Here is a problem I would be very greatful if you could solve. Certain international characters does not work as usernames when trying to log in to an NT4 file server. My problem is that in Swedish versions of NT the "Administrator" username is translated and reads "Administrat?r". It seams that the "?" (Odiaresis) is not encoded properly. I use Red Hat 8.0. It doesn't seam to matter what LANG setting I use in my shell. I have tried both sv_SE that uses iso-8859-1 ecoding and sv_SE.utf8 th...

Getting Samba 3 to communicate with Win2k3 ADS
...e the old server, with each account on my network having a folder on the file server that they can work with i.e. John Doe (jdoe account name on the Windows 2003 domain) has a folder on "Hobbes" (the Linux File Server running Samba 3) named "jdoe" that only he and anyone in the Administrators group can access. This is how I had it setup with the old WinNT 4 file server. Obviously I'm not looking for anything fancy, just some decent security by using the same users/groups between the file server and the domain server, and some folder shares for each account. I've done some r...

OpenVPN tunnel question
...r tool or port. On Port 80 Apache is running, so I only have the https port 443 to tunnel over. The university is providing a Windows VPN client to use the ssh and FTP Ports but this client is unavailable for Linux. And there is no way ahead with openSWAN or strongSWAN. So this is my last chance to administrat my Server remote without using the car :-) I read http://www.shorewall.net/OPENVPN.html It''s nearly what I want, except that my system I want to tunnel to is system B. So I dont want System B to forward connections to any other system. And thats my question. How Can I tunnel every request...
